[GAME OVER] M.A.F.I.A:PANDEMIC EDITION(POSTGAME DISCUSSION)

I'm not even going to try to understand how that panned out. Although it's nice to know all that reasoning about the endgame was moderately pointless because of *hidden powers.* Oh well haha
I've got to say you, piano, did a damn good job at mafia considering how little clues you left towards it, same with Blobofgoo.
I was trying at the end. It's hard to stay hidden when your partner blatantly exposes himself though.
Well, who expects a daykill, anyway? The whole reason I exposed myself was because I was grumpy about the notion that this could rest on RNG with only one town left. I actually feel a little better because of that hidden power, because it still gave endgame some legitimacy.
I guess I still don't get why the mafia didn't infect on night 3. Was shanking me really that important?
@piano god dammit why did you keep me up until like 2:00AM on day 2 going back and forth, why couldn't you just let me die in peace with my dignity intact haha.
@Frogge you made me very sad
@Blob well played, I had zero read on you until you jumped on the day 3 bandwagon
@Gourd I'm sorry in retrospect but I still think you have the guiltiest voting record ever

@psy we thought you were SK
I think I'll host a mafia game in a couple days. I need to plan out some mechanics first though.

Also re: the game in general, I really really like the infection mechanic but I think the whole thing would be massively improved by having the infection be 100% accurate. As it stands it was kind of useless to go after the people who town thought would be infection targets because even if mafia wanted them, there was no guarantee they actually hit. Plus then the doctor could do something helpful because I still think the most useful thing for the doc to do all game would be protect himself.
and maybe it's just me but hidden and RNG-based mechanics always just make things clumsier

Because you complained about Gourd's lynch and run. I wanted to give you the benefit of trying to convince me (though you couldn't have because I was scum). By the way, it was 5:00AM for me.

Would you believe we thought you were the serial killer and thought it would be better to kill because infection didn't guarantee a hit? Remember, I said CAVE role claimed. He denied it. I let him have his denial but didn't believe him. You're the one who convinced me he wasn't.

Cavedog please let me in on your secrets. How were you so accurate with everything besides Day 1?
uhh well my shots mostly were i guess. my lynch targets were not. tungerman was just me shooting a lurker cause I usually do that as sk if I don't have any strong feelings about anyone. I had a bad feeling about YM on d2 and decided it would be easier to just kill him than try to lynch him. the IF kill was because of how he just swooped in to hammer frogge early. On the last day I was just waiting for the scenario where I could kill one mafia and lynch the other at the same time. I spent like 15 seconds deciding all of these so...gut?
I don't know why mafia didn't infect the last day. unless you were told that you couldn't, suddenly? My initial role PM said that if I used my daykill, I wouldn't be able to nightkill any more. Then at the start of this day, I got a PM that said I could not daykill repeatedly because there weren't enough people left to disarm me.
so
-unless mafia had hidden restrictions that I'm not aware of, they were real OP. I won't discount the possibility, since I suddenly gained advantages that I was not aware of?... still, the infection mechanic made scumhunting everyone but the original mafia impossible
- it's important, if you're running an open setup, to explain stuff clearly in the OP, and also not really answer player's questions in the thread. tell them to take that stuff to PM. Kloe and Frogge felt like they got mod-confirmed as town in this manner. frogge still made it impossible to not lynch him, though. thanks for that
-doctor role was entirely useless
Kloe can post puzzle answer in this thread and I will confirm if it was true. :X
i don't like coinflips either
apparently mafia didn't infect cause they just didn't feel like it. o well. If they had then the game would have been unwinnable. I still don't feel like I understood how that worked
