WHY DO YOU MAKE RM GAMES?

I'm not asking why you make games in general. I mean, why do you use RPG Maker? For me, it's simply because it's easy and I have no talent what so ever. However I feel like there's a lot of people here that could be using slightly more advanced engines like game maker or unity if they wanted.
So, why RPG maker in particular? Just because it's easier? Faster development? Nostalgia? Let me know, I'm curious.
(Yes I'm aware that not everyone here uses RPG Maker. If you use something else, this doesn't apply to you.)

I wanted to make games so I could show to people of the stories that I would tell, but in a manner that they can change it into their own as well. Why would I block my creativity when it is the reason I'm pursuing my degree in Science as well as in Game Dev?

I have a lot of experience with engine and I still find it capable of doing things I hadn't thought about before. It's pretty versatile and easy to use if you want a 2D game.

I started with RPG Maker because it was the easiest to learn. I stuck with RPG Maker because it happens to be the exact format of games that I really like and want to keep making. I'm learning Unity and Unreal on the side, and eventually I'll graduate from RM and make RM-like games on more professional engines. For now, I'm happy with this.
I got it in the first gammak Humble Bundle and started working with it in free time. I joined RMN. I wouldn't gammak without RMN. Probably.
I aim to start working with other engines eventually. I want to finish Might Be Magic, Burnt Ones, Chain of Love and some other projects and ideas first.

Multiple reasons. Mostly because RM is the best engine for the format of games that I want to make.
It's also because I can't do real programming. Outside of splicing around some existing RM scripts, I know no programming languages. And considering how much I work, it doesn't seem like I'll ever find the time to learn how. So RM it is.

I use rpg maker because when i tried making an rpg with game maker i wanted to cry over how difficult it was.
So, rpg maker for making rpg games. Yes. I mostly make arcade games though, for those i use game maker. It all depends on what i want to do.

Personally, I find that it just takes care of things in such a way, and provides a certain aesthetic, that's close enough to what I want to achieve as it would just be a waste of time to try and do it all from scratch.
Anything beyond that can (usually) be hacked together with clever use of events, scripts, or resources.
People have even went beyond the bounds of RPG and made some incredibly inventive games in 2003 of all things when all we had was events!
In light of that, I feel people can be their most creative when they are restricted.

I got into game making about 16 years ago. Was there even anything else back then? It's just the first one I found and I stuck with it.
I started with RM so I didn't have to re-invent the tedious minutiae that goes along with a 2D RPG (stuff like the scrolling engine, flow control, inventory, save/load systems, etc.) while still being able to gut the major gameplay systems and design my own. It's a win/win!
Now that I've moved on to Unity, though, I've had to rebuild all that stuff from scratch anyway. So it goes.

I am actually gettin into Unity, but I use RM and will continue to because it's so easy to make the classic style of RPGs that I like.
It's easy. I can roll out a prototype in a day. Easier than Game Maker or Unity. I should probably use Game Maker some time, though, judging by the types of games I try to make (puzzles and sim games).
I've been using RPG Maker since the Playstation version several years ago. I liked RPGs and wanted to make them, and back then, that's all I had available. So over the years as I progressed to the PC version I find myself settling with Ace. A big part of this all is, years ago I never really knew of other game development kits, and the RPG Maker series has given me exactly what I wanted in RPG making tools. So that's kinda' why I stick with it instead of moving on to other toolsets.

Second reason, I have no programming knowledge. I would love to work with a good programmer I have chemistry with one day. I have tried before, but no luck there. I'd love to do a really deep action game one day (something like the Souls series) where it's focused on exploration.
