Hello, My name is Stone. I've been making music for 3 years and I believe I have the skills necessary to work on a project. I'm considering requests on SNES/Retro music. I aim to achieve a classic feel like in the old Super Nintendo games.
My Soundcloud:

Action and epic vibes are my strong-suit, but i can take shots at other genre's as well! If you like one of the songs on my soundcloud and wish to use one of those, but want it to sound different, i can turn it into almost any genre you wish.
Well that should sum things up! If you have any further questions for me let me know. I know I may not have covered everything you wanted to hear. I look forward to working with you :).

Great tracks! I also like SNES style music. If you want, you could help me on an action game: Wizard apprentice Lya. It's an adventure top-down shooter. It is still early in development so I prefer to request music tracks when there will be enough game content. The game will need tracks that convey a sens of adventure and action. I like retro style and use midi tracks for the game.

hi! I'm terribly sorry for being late...I was expecting to get some kind of email if someone posted here but i didn't. If you have another musician already i understand, it's my fault for being irresponsible. If you haven't then yes, i would love to work on something like that.
Don't be sorry, I was working on MinST for the Revive the dead 2 event which ends on the 3rd December.
There is still a lot I need to build in Lya's engine before I can create a lot of game content that requires new music tracks. I could always use a few new tracks while expanding the current game prototype.
For now, you can work on projects that are closer to completion and squeeze in a few requests for Lya. ;-)
I'll come back to you after the Revive the dead 2 event.

Actually, a tester of MinST reported that the current tracks are very repetitive. The tracks are about 1 min 30, this is too short. This tactic turn based game focuses on careful planning so it needs longer tracks. I think about 4 minutes. They should convey a sens of tension while enabling player thinking. Rhythm should be a bit slower than for action oriented tracks. If you're interested, you can check the game to experience what the player will be doing while. In your local install of the game, you can directly replace the current tracks (in the folder "res") with your owns to hear how well they fit in.

Hi again. I'm a little bit at a loss here. You said you were working on a game called Wizard Apprentice Lya, but what's MinST? Also I would argue that tactic based games indeed have short songs. they are just kept very exciting and then loop flawlessly to keep a continuous feel. 4 minutes is actually really long for a game song but, well, I WOULD like to see which project it is you wish for me to work on.
(For example boss battle 1 from chrono trigger is only about 40 seconds long)
I actually got to work today and made some songs based off of what i saw and knew about wizard apprentice lya. Very fast and action paced and such.

How would something like this sound as a boss battle or something. Or even the regular theme.

Ok, I'll clarify.
They are 2 projects I'm working on:
* Wizard apprentice Lya, an adventure top-down shooter
* MinST, a turn based strategy
This site organizes the Revive the dead 2 event where you take an old project, revive it and do your best to finish it. MinST has been untouched for quite a while and this event is a great opportunity for me to finish this project. So I let Wizard apprentice Lya on hold for the duration of the event.
When I saw your proposal, I thought Wizard apprentice Lya requires the type of music you like to create. And your last track perfectly fits the game needs.
Meanwhile, a tester reported that MinST music tracks are too repetitive. I know turn based strategy isn't what you're looking for but... Would you like to help me on that?
You're right: I, being a programmer, should not require the new tracks to be a given duration. You, the musician, have better skills at dealing with the issue. The current tracks are in the "res" folder of the game once unzipped and the exact quote from the tester is "Music is extremely repetitive and I find I can't really stand it for more than a few minutes.". Ideally, I would like Heroes of Might and Magic III type of tracks. And yes, it sounds like I'm trowing you in at the very end of development... ;-)

Ah yes. I really appreciate this, Really sums things up.
So turn based strategy is something i can do, but while MinST is turn based, it doesn't give a lot of inspiration to the artist when it comes to making interesting tracks. At least for me it doesn't :/. I tried making a track that ended up being a rip off of zeal palace for chrono trigger...so...if you dont want a law suit i wouldnt use it lol...

This is what i had of that here...If you're interested anyway.
I did look at the tracks for MinST and to be honest...and to possible but unintended offense to your game, they seemed to suit the art-style. If I made music for it, you might get a similar sounding soundscape. I would have to play the game and get some possible background on it for inspiration (does it have a story?). If you insist I work on it however, I will try my best. Although, I'm not sure how well I can handle 2 projects. I can do it as long as I have time.
Wizard apprentice Lya on the other hand is a genre I've always dreamed of being a part of. My ideas flow much better for that kind of stuff. I could make all sorts of stuff for it. :)
Also, as another thing. I feel like discord or something would be much better for communication o.o . Would that be non-preferable...? It's just I'm brand new to the development scene. I will probably have a lot of questions and such.
-I await your reply.

I found a few tracks to replace the most repetitive ones in MinST. Now that the Revive the dead 2 event is over (Its deadline was extended by 1 day), I'll receive some feedback on my game. I've made a lot of progress but it's not finished yet. The engine is 95% done and I still need to build the campaign mode and its story. I understand the difficulties you have to compose tracks for MinST. It isn't what you're looking for.
It is best indeed that you work on a project that inspires you. I'm glad Wizard apprentice Lya does!
Yes, we should have a talk on discord so you can easily ask questions. I'll contact you via private message to organize the talk and sent more information about Lya. (I call the project "Lya" for short).
