RELATIONS WITH THE GENDER OF YOUR PREFERENCE

Posts

RPG fan girls have it rough. :)

(Sorry to hear that, Akane!)
I won't lie as a kid I had no relationships with girls what so ever, and when Highschool rolled around I was an "ass" however most girls liked that guy who was playfully rude and a bit of a prick. Deep down inside I know I am a nice guy it just seem all my girlfriends like the "jerk" personality which I believe is entirely "Highschool". Now in college I find myself in a juggling act between the two, I really don't mind it but its true girls just like dicks. It seems when I am rude and mean they take that as he's guarded and he just needs to let me it. Because of this my relationships are fast, meaningless, and fun while they last, but I want someone who is more inclined towards a serious meaningful relationship. Not that I want to get married but going from one fluzzy to another makes you come off as a man whore, which I am totally against.

The one relationship I took seriously lasted almost four years. We were supposed to get married last year--However, he fell for a coworker and left me. Must be for the best. He worked at GameStop, so he hooked up with a humorous, well liked, pretty FPS fan girl.

That is terrible! It's pretty crazy that he dumped you for some COD4 floozy!
Yeah i'm sorry to hear that Akane. When i was younger and at school the amount of times i got dumped by girls was insane. I've never been in a serious relationship to now.

I've been in several relationships, which I did not take seriously...the mentality of the men that dated me were along the lines of : "Hey, you're a chick that likes video games. I like video games. Let's date."

Those don't last long. Some incredibly attractive woman will cross our path and I am left alone with my video games and internet.

The one relationship I took seriously lasted almost four years. We were supposed to get married last year--However, he fell for a coworker and left me. Must be for the best. He worked at GameStop, so he hooked up with a humorous, well liked, pretty FPS fan girl.

I was bitter about it, but I moved on because he was happy.

Man that sucks >< Kudos to you, though, for taking the high road! I've left someone for someone else before, and I always felt really dick about it... I don't know if I'm a good enough person to get over it if it happened to me.

There's a lie they always tell you (us). It's that geek boys will make better boyfriends because they will appreciate you for your scarcity as a geek girl and never ever leave you. This is false because a) it implies that geek boys are ugly chodes who can't get girlfriends and b) it implies that hot girls are rarely geeks.

You are definitely pretty enough (from your pics) to be hot in any circle. I'd like to say I am as well. In fact, the great majority of geek girls I know are pretty foxy. Also, just because a boy is a geek doesn't mean he won't be as physically good-looking, fickle or shallow (or not!) as any other boy. You can't say someone is superior or inferior based on what they do in their spare time (unless that thing is killing kittens). That is something defined by their personality, not their hobbies.

But there is such a stereotype placed on and within geek culture - and that is that geek boys are nicer/smarter/more charming/more loyal boyfriends and hot geek girls are rare and elusive and COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY ALWAYS COMPATIBLE with geek boys. I think we try really hard to live up to that, but sometimes, like you said, just because two people both like video games doesn't mean they're mfeo.

I hope you find a boy who truly deserves you. You're clearly a stand-up person, just by your ability to forgive. Don't give your beauty (outer and inner) away to just anyone - make them earn it. : D

That's a new one. I've never heard of a dude whose preference for women is based on their favorite genre of video game! That's like a whole new level of dweeb.

But hey, seems like you have a good attitude. If someone is that flaky, then you're better off without 'em.

I am almost 100% certain this had not much to do with it :-p

I WAS JOKING GOD
Aprilschild is correct. People like to create groups, why I don't know I'm sure we have wasted billions of dollars researching it so go ahead and google it.

But for some reason people these days make these really odd stereotypes. They don't say it but it's deep in that brain of theirs.

"He must be into videogames because he's skinny."
"He's buff so he must get lots of chicks in the sack."

These are really off. I met a 87 pound guy who was pretty pale and he actually did not like videogames or skateboarding or doing drugs. He wasn't into studying much either.

He loved dancing and paintball. People didn't think that because they made several assumptions about this guy already. He was thought to be a freeloader as well. But in fact he works as a lawyer now. Interesting eh?

Everyone thinks I love football and that I am a jock because I am into working out. I love using it as a sleeping aid. I find that when I am physically tired as well and mentally tired I get better sleep. So now I study and workout and have done so for years.

But who believes someone who uses the internet and loves games and studying would look like me? I look like the stereotypical "jock" you see in movies. Maybe that's why people make that assumption? I can't be sure. But I know who I am and therefore I am comfortable enough to say what's on my mind without fear of persecution. I was made fun of for a while in my body conditioning classes at college because I would keep count using math formulas. I was called a brawny nerd once. But I noticed that younger people didn't typically do those things it was always the older people. I hope this trend continues. I met this girl that loves math and by no means is she the "troll" or "ugly" you see stereotyped in movies where they load tons of warts and put gigantic glasses on.

I also met another guy here who looks like a troublemaker to most other people. Why? He wears a hoody and shorts with worn sports shoes. OMG BEING POOR MAKES YOU EVIL! Seriously? What the hell? He's the coolest guy in my class. He isn't an asshole like most and he doesn't speak in ignorance. Which is interesting because I noticed the older people DO speak in ignorance quite often.

I see the attitude of old people dying out and would like it to keep going that way. I'm tired of seeing kids harass others because their parent's tell them in a subliminal way that it's okay by doing it themselves. I'm also tired of seeing kids fight over such stupid reasons. Who the hell cares what the cheerleaders like to do? Do they really have an obligation to care about their makeup and gossip rather then doing something constructive? I say no and so do more and more people. I feel this is the first step towards making more people happier. Eliminate this backwards way of thinking our grandparents had.

It's one thing to worry and it's another to make un-educated guesses based off those worries. Life is too short to pander to everyone elses cares. Go for who you want and tell your parents to stop being foolish.
Haha it had nothing--well I wouldn't say nothing. I preferred RPGs, and he preferred FPS. Anyway, I identify her as such because that's all I knew her as. Other than the diabetic girl who thinks it's totally okay to ignore someone for fun.

Yes. Are you macking on girls at parties/at the bar or whatever?

Yes and no. Even when I don't I always seem to attract the same kinds of girls.

Sluts are attracted to me, as well. I got this one girl that had sex over 50 times (With different people btw), she's bi-sexual and she's an alcoholic. She claims she "Loves" me and she's been with her boyfriend for 3 years now, but she always calls me and says how much she misses me and shit. She doesn't wanna have sex with me because she says she's not good enough for me and that I deserve a virgin.

She's really weird and always wants to be beside me :-\
I had someone that was crazy for me when i was at school. She used to date a new person about every week and she wasn't even attractive. She used to come up to me a lot and hug, kiss me when the boyfriend wasn't around. I eventually told her that i didn't like her and wasn't interested in a relationship at the time. She got so angry at me for that she went and told her boyfriend and he threatened to kill me.

... I'm kind of trying to figure out what being bisexual has to do with any of that.

Is bisexuality supposed to be weird or slutty? >:(
Oh man. This past year I've grown to hate the words "Best Friend"...
Ugh. There's this girl, and I'm basically in love with her, and we're really close. But that's the problem. The last relationship she was in was pretty bad (and it only lasted five days") because they were just as close or even closer that we are and it just made things odd for them. So of course that just put her off dating close friends. Ugh...

Depends on where he lives, cultural norms aren't the same everywhere, and we can't expect them to be. Doesn't he live in the Cayman Islands?

I guess thats true. *Grumble grumble.* :)
Yes I live in the Cayman Islands and Bisexuality is kind of odd here. The little amount of people that actually live here are straight :-\

I guess it's more common in the states then, heh ::)
You can call me a "World Virgin" I've been here all my life :P
