I don't even know. The only thing I can see about my games is I'm too lazy to script so I do everything the hard way with events. XD

Be careful ! I'm French

Absurd dialogues, no matter the type of game they are in. My characters like to tease each other.

The Duelist Master 2
- NOTES: Lucien lives in the sewers since a long time and Paul suggests him to go outside together. And sorry, the City they talk about is not the same City as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's... -
Lucien: I'd like to see how the City changed since my last visit a year ago.
Paul: A whole year without seeing the light! Aren't you a vampire by the way?
Lucien: ...

Sorcelleria, the Cult of the Sorcerer
- NOTE: Bryan and Conan rescue the other heroes that were captured by someone -
Sven: Bryan, you better not let me in my cell. Else, I'll cut your ears.
Marianne: Bryan, I was sure you'd come to save me.
Juliette: Are you in love with him?
Marianne: Sis, no time for questions. We're still imprisoned!
I don't think anyone should be worrying about their identity. Just make games that you want to make. I think it's far more important for you to make things you are passionate about, than trying to fit into some mold.

Having said that, things you've created might have impact in your future for sure.

I'm rather novice in game development, but I've already noticed that certain people and certain sites like to ignore my creations, because my releases so far have contained some rather extreme content. My games aren't centered around that kind of stuff, but even small doses of such material turn many away. It's understandable though, because I don't take my chances with games with sexual violence for example either. There are too many fetish and shock factor-only games around. And also many web sites don't promote games that are Adults Only at all. So yeah.

I'm glad though that most of the people who play my games seem to see through the veil of edge-lordiness, but I think I already have a stigma on me. It's part of my "game dev identity" at this point. I'd like to think my art style is also pretty original, which is becoming a signature at this point.

It's going to be interesting seeing how people react if and when I end up making something else entirely.

Oh and nice topic! :D
My game design signature is some combination of:
  • pixellated ultraviolence
  • strong female agonists* (pro, ant, or deuter)
  • rampant lesbianism usually involving the above*
  • gratuitous dogs & drug references

And of course, in my free projects, the liberal unapologetic use of modern/"pop" music, usually rock & roll, by actual bands (a few of which you might even have heard of, although I'd wager not usually), with actual lyrics, in my games.

My game design IDENTITY is too expansive and in-depth a topic to get into right now--not just mine, game design identity in general. Although the fact that I openly value writing over other aspects of the craft is probably the most evident part of it.

* These elements have not been emphasized in any of my completed or released projects nearly as much as I would like, but definitely will be prominent in the game I'm currently working on. While all strong and independent in their own way, it occurs to me now that all the ladies in my cancelled megaprojekt Road To Paradise were straight, except for Watanabe who I think is probably asexual (but could potentially be talked into having sex with anyone or anything "FOR SCIENCE"), and Lydia who is a death goddess and I'm pretty sure it's a bad idea to ask a death goddess what her sexual preference is. Chapelwaite had basically an all male cast, because that's what the source material had (in hindsight there is the potential for ho-yay between Charles & Cal I could have played up if I was striving for maximum gay). And in When You Were Young I never thought about the sexual preferences of the kids because they're well, kids, although in my mind Ralph and Ulrika were straight.
I've noticed a trend with the games i like to write about making but haven't really started to make just yet. They tend to be personal-ish with dark themes or horror aspects. I also really like to the adventure types, like going to on a quest to find things about yourself or something like that. I love murder mystery as well I want to do some kind of detective game at some point as well though I haven't fleshed that out super well at all xD.
