So I'm trying to import custom enemies into a game and I sorta succeeded! The enemies look completely fine except for, they seem to need a checkered black-and-blue background. Does anyone know how to easily add that?
That would be the transparency. I suggest using something like gimp or photopea to add proper transparency to your images.
As for how to make a custom enemy graphic have proper transparency, that depends entirely upon what sort of edges it has.
If its just straight-up pixel art or something with similarly chunky bounderies, you can probably just get away with selecting the background with the magic wand set to nearest neighbor or something.
If its something a bit more fuzzier around the edges however, you might have to mess with transparency masks.
Remember to add an alpha channel before you start trying to remove the background and save it as a png!
