let's just hope they stick to 2D sonic and don't fuck it up with SHADOW bullshit since every 3D sonic game has been a total disgrace to the character

Like I said to Prexus last night, it's crazy that it took Nintendo to make Sonic cool again.
Sonic has been cool the entire time. His sidekicks and developers, however, are a different story.

I'm assuming that they pushed back Brawl mostly because WiiFit was coming out December 1st. They're expecting WiiFit to sell them a lot of Wii's so I bet they figured they didn't need Brawl to be their Christmas Killah. Saddens me, still.

I figure that Nintendo is anticipating sastisfactory sales for Wii for the xmas season without Brawl. In fact, it would have overshadowed other Wii games like Fit and SMG.
Secondly, Brawl will sell regardless of when it is released, so I suppose Nintendo weighed that in when they were considering the delay (for whatever reason the delay was requested).
I'm sure there is a valid reason for the delay (too many bugs, balance issues, etc...) and it's not just "Nintendo wants more money in 2008".
