Cliches or tropes? Don't even get me started on tropes. (As much as I hate that website, I've read enough of it to realize that I quite like Magnificent Bastards, Xanatos Gambits (and all variations thereof, including Thirty Xanatos Pileup, and a bunch of their other buzzwords not worth mentioning.)Anyway, this troper- ugh.

I honestly don't remember anything Sephiroth did besides kill that girl. But that probably says more about me than it does the game.
How can you not remember Sephiroth trying to make Cloud think he never existed.

It was my favorite game back in the day until I played Persona 2, though.
I find that a scene involving a limited number of rooms in an inn is always good for a few laughs.

I love the cliche female main character. Not that I can relate to them, but In every game I'd just rather whoop ass as a female. It just looks so much better for some reason. ::)

Hyrule Field was HUGE! And the Wolf thing was a nice addition imo.

Hyrule Field was HUGE! And the Wolf thing was a nice addition imo.
The game only let you in to new areas 1 little area at a time. That is what I ment by closed up. As for the wolf thing its a matter of taste and I don't wolf transformations in my zelda.

I like the "ancient technological advanced extinct civilization" cliche since it gives reason to place lots nof mechinery oriented dungeons. Yet I like it when current technology is at least steam/gunpowder or that at least some characters actually use that ancient technology.
Magic = technology cliche is also good, in which tech is powered by magic, mages are actually scientists and all that stuff. FFVI, Xenogears...
