Probably more interesting.
FUCK NO!!!
Without Sephiroth the story would be nothing.
I like swords.
Was what I thought I'd post but then I thought "I don't spam too much do I? because it feels stupid". Unfortunately that means that my "I like swords" joke will definitely fall flat. but there you are.
I guess I agree with aprilschild
But on the topic of me liking swords. I don't like the cliché that says that all clichés should be avoided like the plague. The cliché that making the "anti-cliché" just because it is anti-cliché (I don't like the anti-anti-cliché either).
To sum it up I like swords. I don't like weird anti-swords (like... hairnails, scissors or a pencil) and I don't like anti-anti-swords either (like "lol I have sword")

I do not ever ever like cliche. For something to be a cliche, it is by necessity (and the definition of the word as used today) tired and predictable.
HOWEVER, there are many Tropes that I enjoy quite a lot! It doesn't matter if a plot or genre point is used as long as it is handled correctly. If something is handled well, it will never appear "cliched" and always familiar.

The anti-anti-cliche is more cliche now, I think =P
Though it's not too prevalent, I like protagonists with father complexes, or any character with a complex relationship with his/her father.
I like that Shinan didn't link to a certain site.
I like my good guys to be good and my bad guys to be bad. Angst annoys me.

I absolutely love Forbidden Kingdom
Off Topic:
Your the first person I've seen (heard) that actually liked The Forbidden Kingdom :o
The idea of a secret organization behind the scenes of a game appeals to me just about all the time.
However, I can enjoy most cliches, but only if they are presented in fantastic manner. I don't say professional because most professional companies don't know how to present cliche ideas in appealing manners.

Cliches or tropes? Don't even get me started on tropes. (As much as I hate that website, I've read enough of it to realize that I quite like Magnificent Bastards, Xanatos Gambits (and all variations thereof, including Thirty Xanatos Pileup, and a bunch of their other buzzwords not worth mentioning.)
Anyway, this troper- ugh.
Anyway, I am a big fan of secret conspiracies and government organizations secretly manipulating things. This is a theme in nearly all of my work.
I really like mind fuck and/or well-executed "it was all a dream" endings.
Oh, and I...try...to like the amnesia angle. I really try.
I like this as long as there's a good explanation/rationalization for it. (I can think of several myself!) But not if it's "just because".

I agree with Shinan, although maybe in a more specific way...
I like the cliché of having a modern-world were countries have intercontinental missiles, cars, guns, etc. yet the hero is still walking around using a medieval weapon. Which is a good job, since that's exactly what happens in Sore Losers.

I don't mind cliches if they're used right, but my favorite is the whole, "technology is evil" thing. Most "advanced cities," like Zeal and Vane or whatever, look really good and usually have great background music.
The only problem is that those places usually end up getting destroyed. :(

I love the typical JRPG arc of getting more and more members until you get an airship where everyone's on board giving their spiel and you can fly around the world super fast.

Oh God. At least you had the decency not to drop a link. It seems every time I click a link to TVTropes I end up reading it for about two hours.

I've got two words for you... (IG1 spoiler)
ARMAND CARTER
(... although I suppose the Celestials would count too since they never really mention their past lives.)

People like to hate on Sephiroth. Poor guy... Fact remains, he was the evil backbone of FF7's storyline, which was the point I was making.
I honestly don't remember anything Sephiroth did besides kill that girl. But that probably says more about me than it does the game.
