I just watched the latest trailer people here were talking about a few days ago, and oh man was it amazing! I'll buy a PS3 in 2 years time and definitely buy this and MGS4.

When was it announced that MGS4 was being ported to the 360? I don't recall anything other the mindless speculation of fanboys.

It is also possible I have been living under a rock.

Reminds me of back in the day when RE4 was solely released for the gamecube. Then they decided they wanted money and released it on everything else, with extras. Good ole business.

I'd rather buy a PS3 than an Xbox360. I'm assuming in 2 years time it'll be quite a lot cheaper and a blue-ray player and all that. I hope in that time they redesign it so it doesn't look lame as well. If not, waiting three years is possible.

With Sony's dwindling marketshare and lackluster exclusives, it's not really a good videogames investment right now. It is, however, a most excellent blu-ray player.

That actually sounds a little better than 12. I've been thinking, and, even though I doubt I'll get a PS3, I'm willing to give FF13 the benefit of the doubt.

Final Fantasy XIII is coming out for the XBOX 360 as well. And who knows? With the developments that have surfaced, I think SE is trying to bring back the Final Fantasy series to greatness.

Won't happen. They've beaten the dead horse for far too long.

So do you think FF should have died a long time ago? I don't, it's a great series, but when I saw FF12's battle system (and this is the only reason), I started to hate SquareEnix for taking away what got me into RPG's in the first place, the classical battle system. Since FF12, they've (apparently) been making nothing but shit (The Last Remnant battle system was even worse than FF12's, but I've yet to play Infinite Undiscovery)

It is obvious that the battle system in most games is what pulls me in.

I thought FF12's battle system was the only good best thing about it. Everything else about it was painfully lackluster. It was a beautiful game, though.

Also I just looked it up and when originally started Basch was the main character in Final Fantasy XII. Vaan and Penelo were added at the last minute or whatever for marketing reasons(according to Wikipedia)! It makes sense because Vagrant Story starred a mature man, and the main character in Final Fantasy Tactics was portrayed in a progressively more positive light as he aged throughout the game.

I think FF12 would've worked best if it was an adventure game just starring Ashe, with Balthier as a supporting character. Vaan/Penelo/Fran/Basch were incredibly boring characters and I don't remember anything they did.

Balthier was wasted. :(


But after 12, I probably won't buy another FF game again.

It already has. That was pretty much the whole point behind Blu-Ray and HD-DVD--a slight upgrade in video quality and a useless (to casual consumers) upgrade in storage space, with a stowaway effect that you can only watch your Blu-Rays in standard definition if you're not using a setup that's been approved by Sony so they can be sure you're not copying movies.

I don't know about you but I think the story was lacking in areas and most of the characters(Except Balthier & Fran) weren't really that interesting. I quite liked it as well though, especially the Gambit system. Gambits were genius and the art style(Albeit a few character designs *cough*Vaan*cough*) & music coupled with the battle system were top notch IMO.

One of three FF I actually like.
