In amateur games, I usually cannot take the game seriously if it tries to seriously depict nudity. Then again, my experience has been limited mostly to crappy RM2K/3 games, so who knows? Maybe someone can do nudity tastefully?
But even then, what's the point? Is the nudity supposed to advance the story (is it necessary?) Is the nudity actually supposed to be erotic (can stumpy little cartoon people do that?)
The one exception I remember was good horror RPG done in RM2K called the Longest Ribbon; I remember a boss encounter in which the female protagonist had to fight a nude clone of herself. Even then, it wasn't 'hot' (just two stumpy little people with crappy RM2K *punch* *punch* animations), and the fight made sense- the clone was an alien representation of this house's evil, didn't say a word of dialogue, and was meant just to be scary in the Weird sense (which is something the game did very well in other areas, like in a freaky-scary spoof of Don Miguel's sample game).
As for nudity in commercial games, well, again, it's usually kinda stupid and pointless anyways- put there to be shocking, and distracting from the core purpose of the game

I dunno, it's possible to have tasteful nudity depending on the context and all. At the very least, I'm mature enough not to get embarrassed over digital representations of the naked human body, tasteful or not. If the game is well-presented and fits in well with the nude scene, then that's all that's needed to win me over.
Let me tell you something.
Whenever I am playing someone's homebrewed game and I come upon a nude scene or a badly animated/drawn sex scene my hand connects with my face.

I don't think there is really anything wrong with nudity in games. If most people can't handle it then don't play the game. I think having like nude monsters (like some Lunar, Persona, and other games I can't think of at the moment.) is very unique and cool. I encourage it... as long as you don't have a dirty mind and think hee hee that monster has boobies. :P
