LOGO QUEST CONTEST (MASSIVE EXP BONUS)
Posts
The website http://ghostlightgames.net/, a home on the net for Ghostlight Studio's creative projects of all stripes, designed by the talented and dedicated Otokonoko, is in need of a logo, as humorously referenced on our (still under construction, pardon our dust) home page.
This logo will ideally be scalable to a number of sizes (as a baseline, use the rough size and shape of the 'empty' panel at the top of the home page. No taller or wider than that, starting out.)
In addition to lingering at the masthead of our website this logo will also be used in the credits of several of my games, so it does in fact belong in this particular forum as it is a game request. Please use the layout, colors and styles of the home page as a guideline to creating a logo that meshes well. So try and avoid clashing, please.
Our old logo looked like this:
We're not asking you to recreate that, by all means, if you have a better idea, go with that. We just thought we'd provide this for reference.
Whoever's logo or logos we use, will receive something significantly less substantial than actual money dollars, but significantly more substantial than nothing at all. This can include bonus content pertaining to one of my games or my help on one of your projects or any number of other little bonuses.
Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I really look forward to seeing what everyone can produce.

I could possibly throw in, say, a @ghostlightgames.net email address or something, along with consideration for things so secret I haven't even told Legion about them yet (wait, fuck.)
EDIT: you know you're a goddamn nerd when the first thing you think of when you see "@ghostlightgames.net" is a TWITTER ACCOUNT.
Jesus.

What the hell Oto
I think I need to find the time to get back to GL and MISSILEPUNCH some sense back into you soon

You were there for the creation of the first general gaming-related Ghostlive. You heard, first hand, my insanity.
And yet you still think "sense" and "Otokonoko" belong in the same TIMEZONE?

Here's my shot. Not a lot different than what you had... also a little girly... but it's what I came up with. Hopefully it will get the ball rolling.

Hearts stars and mushrooms, clovers and blue moons!
Seriously, that is very, very elegant and smooth but incredibly sparkly. I like it but can't imagine how confused someone would feel seeing it appear before the opening scenes of say Backstage or Ruptured souls.
I'm curious what Oto thinks.

I'd just hope the leaves were more spooky than sparkly... but yeah, it is a little, well...
I'd love it if it were just a little less... fairy-tale-esque, as Azn put it. I don't see it as an official logo for use in the games, BUT I think I'll probably end up putting all of the banners together into a random banner script for the site (with credit, of course.)
EDIT: In other words, I love it as a concept. I just think it'd be too much of an atmosphere killer to see that screen before a game like Backstage II, ETG, or Ruptured Souls.

You should request the chosen logo with different looks to fit specific games. Think, the Warner Bros intro to Matrix, they made it green with fluttering code on it. I think Batman had a black/white WB logo as well.
Very elegant work, Aprilschild. You have a good eye for design.

I think S.F.'s idea is really good. Just using aprilschild's as an example (it's the only entry so far) I think the blue and white one matches the site perfectly, and I'm very curious what, say, a red and black version would look like. (Red and black were the old Ghostlight colors.)
Well, I like it, Azn, and I appreciate the team spirit!
Looking forward to more entries like the ones we've been receiving.

Just a little announcement; we end our search for the logo May 1st. I'm eager to see more designs before then.
just a heads-up, I'm goin' prepare something for this mostly because I know exactly what is required aaand I should probably do something more for a community I claim to be part of !!
