Lennon, I'd love to comment on how great that looks, but I cannot. I'm too annoyed at you because you cancel all your games! Will this one even get to a demo? =(

Yes. It will. I'm only doing the screened area for the demo and its almost finished, then I have to do the battles and events and some last touches, plus I don't have a deadline or anything, so It's not like it's a big workload.

Ok, look, I have been reading through everything here and skipping through some things... I just have two questions for everyone here:
1: HOW do you get your toons to fight monsters on the playing field!? I know there's that view-thingy that allows them to see you coming and all, but I can't find it anywhere and would have NO clue on where to start looking.
2: How in the world did you get the toons HP and so forth including their pic on the view like that??? I love that and it looks so much better then just a big blank page, you know what I mean? I would love to do it with maybe a mini-map on the either bottom right or upper right side of the screen. Possibly add quick keys as well on the left side at the bottom or maybe square in the middle on the bottom of the screen, but I can't figure it out!
Please, someone at least 'point' me in the right place and I would be more then happy to read it myself from there! :) <3 to the peeps that can help! :)

I'm not really sure what you're asking for your first question, but as far as #2 is concerned, it's usually done with a series of Common Events detecting your HP and then putting a picture on the screen based on how much HP you have.
If that doesn't reveal much to you, it'd be best to open up a game that uses this sort of UI and try to decipher the code until you figure it out.
In any case, trial and error works best.

Something new from RealmS. I've undated the old demo to fix some bugs and problems and added this new minigame. yeah, nothing too exciting, but it's a way to make cash. ^.^

Here are a few screens from my upcoming project, Eternity: The Black Star.

I think the player may suffer from Skill Overload when you heap all that on 'em.

You start the game with three skills and every time you level up you gain an ability point, which you can use to learn a new skill or upgrade an existing one.
The main character easily has the biggest skill list and that's the one you're looking at, so hopefully things progress slowly enough that the player's brain doesn't explode.

I like your system set. It's such a simple, yet effective emboss effect.
I've been trying to work on a new HUD--something that looks a little better, isn't so bright, and incorporates some anti-aliasing. However, I don't really know what direction to take it. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Ze ha ha ha. And for you, I'd have to go with Option B. Much better looking, and it gives off a ncier feel. That's my opinion, anyway. =O

I like the color scheme a lot better, but the person still feels out of place. I'd go with a shadow of Andoru or something so that it makes more sense instead of random non-charset looking person running. Just my opinion though.
I've always wondered why you don't just have a meter labelled "Sprint" or "Stamina" or even just "S".
Although, if it's possible to control other characters, it'd be cool if the dude in the HUD changed to reflect that.
