UGH..EXERCISE...
Posts
The best way to excercise is to have fun while you do. Running around a track on your own accord? Not fun, and you will lose interest in no time. Running around the woods with paintball guns shooting each other? Lots of fun, and it makes you run all the time.
Well, part of exercise is discipline, too. If you want to make real progress on a serious goal, you have to realize that sometimes you're going to force yourself to do it, and it won't be fun all of the time.
I'd love to work out at home, but considering I don't have barbells, enough dumbells, a squat rack, a bench set, or the space to hold any of it, I'm restricted to gym membership for my exercise.
I don't like the gym either. Just invest in some freeweights and work out at home. Do crunches, lunges, squats, skipping, pushups. Just make sure you get your heartrate up if you want the cardio. That's all you really need.

I'd play streethockey or volleyball every day if I could find people willing to play. The problem is I don't.

Fortunately, I'm still in high-school and plenty of people love to wrestle, paintball, and box. If it involves pain, they'll love it.

The desire to gain a healthy amount of muscle mass can have very little to do with looking good. I exercise to keep healthy, strong, fit, etc just like you do. And besides, there's nothing wrong with wanting to look your best. It doesn't mean you're vain.
I lifted for about a year once until I realized I hated it and didn't care about the results enough to continue. I pretty much just run now, because recovery is instant once you get over the initial pain starting out (as with any exercise... sucks trying to get in shape), and I enjoy the scenery. I can't run on a treadmill for more than fifteen minutes without wanting to murder somebody. Lately I've taken up cycling as a hobby, but find its usefulness as exercise less potent--just more fun.
This off-topic, but it has occurred to me that if RMN wants the forum-goers to post more comments on the main site, perhaps we should consider having boobledeeboo post the news article.

This is not Gaming World era 2005-Present. However, we're still happy to have you!

I walk over six miles every day at work, but apparently that is not enough.
As for boobledeebo's comments, I would be more worried about random guys you don't know than people you know from school or around town. Remember, if they see you there that means they are there too and they probably look just as silly.
I'm actually surprised by how much you guys do to keep fit. I'm not at all saying i expected you all to be unhealthy, but practically none of my mates ever get round to doing pretty much..well, anything.
I think you have a good point Natook, it is better when you're doing a hobby you enjoy, however sometimes you have to push yourself a little more - no pain no gain right?
Hahaha, @Heynowrcp, unless Gym's dim the lights in the evening, i don't think that idea'd fly. I wish i could play the piano. I've played 5 instruments in my lifetime and given up 5.
Um, and while i'm flattered at your comment Holbert, i don't..really know..where i'd begin. Would i have to write the news articles?
I'd be crap basically.
And by the way, i am aching today, i think i might have to ease myself into this whole jogging fandango(im so unfit).

Ahahaha, but then instead of being paranoid about people looking at me, i'd be paranoid about my safety.

boobledeeboo it's good to see another girl in here! :)
I was assuming that was his girlfriend or something in his avatar. I didn't exactly read the whole thread either, though.
