I exercise when I feel like it. I used to stick to a schedule but now it's more or less down to how likely I'll be in pain the next day. Yes, you shouldn't really be but I think I have some form of arthritis, not that my doctor thinks so. Anyone else get painful joints after exercising?
yeah, i got a painful everything the day after my jog. It was more like an ache, so maybe it's different to what you get? And im pretty sure many people do.
Your tendons and muscles are weak after a long period of inactivity, most likely. They will strengthen (or you'll tear your ACL, whichever comes first).
yeah. whatever you do, don't over exert yourself. give your body a day or two inbetween workouts to recover.
OFF TOPIC: Anyone notice that Fed changes his avatar almost every five minutes?

ON TOPIC: I just got back from the gym today. I was at Costa Rica for a week, so my schedule got mixed up a little bit, but I'm getting back to it. Here's what I do at my neighborhood gym:

LATERAL PULL-DOWN; 56.25 lbs
ARM ROTATION; 40 lbs
AB CRUNCH; 55-60 lbs
CHEST PRESS; 40 lbs

Oh man, how I HATE that Chest Press.

At my dad's house, however, my schedule is again thrown off. My dad has a do-it-yourself mini-gym set of equiptment, but I can't work out there. Not that the equiptment isn't good, it's just that he has me work out in front of our house.

I usually wake up at 5:30 AM in the morning and go on a quick jog for about an hour or so, come back, do two sets of thirty sit ups and a few other exercises and stretches. It helps me get started with my day since I don't drink caffeine.

I generally don't care about my physical appearances that much, but I love hiking. I am apart of a hiking club and I am quite slow compared to the rest (they've had years and years of experience) and I really want to be apart of the "Advanced" crew hopefully before my undergraduate college career is over.
I just added the Ab Ripper video series to my workout. I'm in pain...

...but I must continue. I must...

Now the most exercise i usually get in a day is either going up my stairs or walking to the park, and the thought of jogging has never occured to me before, as i always thought i would get embarassed running in front of people, especially anyone i know.
In fact, I was going to start going to the gym, but i started dialling the phone for the induction day and got really worried that people i know might go to my gym and then i panicked, hung up, and decided jogging would be the lesser embarrasing way to try and get a bit healthier.

Hopefully my girlfriend won't read too much into this, but I think you might be my soul mate. Let me clarify: I thought I was the only person in the world that neurotically self-conscious, insecure, and terrified of seeing people I know.

I was a pretty skinny guy but I went to the college gym to work out and now for the most part i'm satisfied with the results. For me jogging is one of the most annoying/boring things to do in terms of exercise so I do free running(parkour) instead.

Jogging's more of a healthy form of walking. Good way to clear your head. You parkour? What can you do?

Well watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTr_-0sEM1U (ye the video kind of sucks but we can do better)

This video was randomly put together by my friend for fun and we are slightly better now and are planning on making a new one soon.

I haven't been to the gym regularly for MONTHS and it totally shows. In good news, though, I can actually do pull ups again after having attached a pull up bar to my door frame. It's amazing how much it helps to attach one of those to a high traffic area in the house. Walking by? Do a pull up! Going to bed? Do a pull up!

I've thought about getting into jogging, but my body style is more built for sprinting than long distance.
Jogging is TERRIBLE.

Besides being mind-numbingly boring, it also destroys your knees and gives you nasty shin-splints. It took me nearly 6 weeks to recover from my attempt to join a beginner's jogging clinic. You're better off bike-riding, swimming, or rollerblading.

jogging is only fun as a means to get to the ball in a game of street hockey.

Forget your girlfriend, it's meant to be.
Hahaha, well i did about a week of jogging, and now i haven't done anything for 2. I've realised how quickly i lose motivation.
I'll probably find something new to do tommorow.

Parkour looks like great fun by the way. My bro was into it for about a month, but the area around us is a bit sucky for that so he lost interest.

Um I do that as well, I guess we can be soul mates too!

As for exercise? I start the day with a backflip out of my bed and into my shoes. I proceed to grab my clothes and put them on as I somersault to my garage. I get in my corvette twin turbo, drive out onto a ramp sending me flying over a house (while doing a 360). I speed along the street putting two wheels into the gutter allowing for maximum speed (it's a trick I learned from watching too much Initial D) Then I drift right into a parking lot, jump out of the car and dramatically walk away from the explosion. Afterwards I cart wheel right in the gym I go to, and find a good looking chick only to lift her entire body up with my pinky finger. I pick up several other women with my other hand in order to give balance to my lifting. After several lifts I let them down and get all of their numbers. I arrive at a club and perform windmill break dance moves allowing me to receive more girl numbers. After returning home I play some rpg maker games and do my three tile rule rountine.

That's basically my usual day in a nutshell. Any suggestions to my work out?
how many chapsets do you use in your reps?
