RPG MAKER VX INFORMATION WEBSITE
Posts
Both to help out RPG Maker Network, and to compile all the information about RMVX I can muster, I am working on a General Information website. It's not pretty, but it's functional.
Unofficial RPG Maker VX Information Website
As information becomes available, and as I add more information, I will keep this post updated.

Very nice...
Only thing I don't like is the character sets.
I would prefer that to be more like RMXP. But it's probably more prefered in general, so that's no problem.
I am liking everything else a lot.

As it says, you can prefix a characterset filename with $, and it works as an individual file (so 3 frames by 4 poses)
Really cool. A great resource so people can begin making graphics and stuff for RMVX before the program comes out. Time to get prepared. :-)
RPG maker VX is becoming even more better with every passing day. Haven't checked the website in a while though.
This is a good idea.
Maybe if RMVX comes out in the summer I'll get to work on the new Wilfred the Hero. NO MORE FUCKING ARTIST THOUGH .....................................

A lot of information appears at http://www.rpgrevolution.com/, check them out, it's an interesting read.

That is why Prexus was establishing some info on RMVX for us, so our users won't have to go elsewhere to get their fix. :)
Also, not to bash the guys at RPGRevolution, but all they do is babelfish their translations. I actually go through, interpret, and translate the Babelfished stuff into my own words. Also, RRR is missing a ton of information which I do have (but is not up on the site yet.)
I'm working on converting it to use RMN's CSS Styles and skins, so it will seamlessly look like this website, instead of the shitty job i've done with it already.

Did you read the site at all? RMVX English comes out February 2008.
No, but I did after you attacked me :(
This sounds like a nifty program!
I don't think it will be, judging from what we know. The maps are different, for one. Like, a lot different.
I'm concerned about the resolution, since I did a ton of graphical work specifically for 640x480. Maybe it'll work out fine anyway?
RMVX won't be backwards compatible with RMXP. Almost everything is different regarding the engine itself.
After watching the highly sarcastic video of the anticipated RMVX at rpgrevolution.com and doing research of my own, I was awfully disappointed. It appears to me that Enterbrain is changing direction in what was a very good direction, heading straight back to the way that the older RPG Makers had been four years prior, but with the RGSS scripting capability that I believe is the same exact programming language within RMXP.
After using every RPG Maker out to date, I myself am satisfied with RMXP, though not being perfect, it contains everything that is worth having that RMVX contains besides a couple of features which is the use of 32-bit colors and an increased frame rate, actually double the frame rate of RMXP games. Besides that, I do not see any reason why anybody in their right mind would spend ~$100 to mess with this software that not only contains the capabilities that RMXP already has, but also contains horrible, default graphics and a lower resolution.

The resolution is only slightly lower, the reasoning behind it is a mystery but instead of maps being 20x15 tiles, they will be 17x13, and an odd number of tiles actually works better so I am all for it.
Also, the RTP is of no-consequence since the RMXP RTP can be converted pretty easily. But in all honestly, I think it looks great, and so do lots of other people.
RMVX does nothing -worse- than RMXP, and many things better. It is worth the $100. A game made in RMVX that is identical to a game made in RMXP will be -better-.

Yeah thanks for telling us the "TON OF INFORMATION" that we were missing. Way to go. Plus, most of the information at RPG Revolution has actually been "interpret, and translate the Babelfished stuff into my own words", so I don't know what you're talking about. But I have to admit the material information page is half-translated because I didn't have enough time to finish and actually go back and clean up. (damn the laziness)
Just some defending on my part.
