WORST. GAME. EVER.

Posts

So I finished Sonic 2006 a few days ago. The final final boss involves the three hedgehogs teaming up, turning yellow, and flying around hoping that where you are isn't where the lasers the boss is shooting are. Sonic's attack is charge up and dash at the boss. Shadow's attack is a charge up and shoot shit at the boss. Silver, like half the game when you play as him, doesn't have an attack. You catch balls the boss throws at you and you throw them back using the power of physics. Except balls can be destroyed if they get hit by a laser or another ball. And there are a lot of lasers and balls being thrown around.

The only thing that game does right is retcon itself out of existance
at least you haven't got the movement and taunt buttons mixed up

Back on topic...There is this one game called Martian Gothic: *something*. It is a shooter, sort of like the early Resident Evil games. It was very hard and I was too scared of the game at the time, so I stopped playing. Anyone else played this game?
http://www.mobygames.com/game/martian-gothic-unificationthis game? apparently the PC version outstrips the console title.

I have this game and aside from the extreme difficulty (enemies don't die, limited inventory space, constant switching between three characters, narrow environments, little ammunition) it's pretty dang good. Story especially.

You know I think I always have to find the good in a game. BUT THAT JUST MEANS I'M A GREAT PERSON RIGHT
Nah I just push the attack button and go flying off the world and die. This applies to every character except the pink thing with a melee attack and can turn invisible so you can't see your character in a game with some of the world's poorest collision detection

Rings of Power for the Genesis is really bad.

Pros:
-Naughty Dog made it.
-There is a secret code that shows the intro girl's breasts.
-You can go into a house and kill the entire family.

Cons:
-Holy shit, pa is really tough for being a farmer and will protect the family with his life.
-Everything else about the game.

I played it when I was a young kid, thus the loss of interest. Same was with RE, but I got over that one. I guess if I play Martian Gothic now, I may be able to get farther...

Does anyone think badly of the Parappa games? I don't, but there's always someone who doesn't like a certain game. Also, there was this one game for the PSOne called Caesar's Palace. It's a casino game, so it gets very boring after a while.

Erm... What's going on there?
It's a complete change from the usual freedom and exploration gameplay to being linear as hell

It's pretending to give the player a choice until the end of the game where all the choices the player made mean nothing

It's an abysmal storyline where the Avatar isn't the player's avatar but just some punk who thinks he's the protagonist

It's a series of huge dungeons that go on forever and stay well past their welcoming to the point that even the developers added a way of skipping directly to the end halfway through one of the dungeons

It's a game where you are all by yourself and can't do any of the cool shit like in the previous games like have a baby in the inventory that gives you an item that can make any enemy flee

It's abusing a hilariously bad engine to skip as much of the above stuff and go straight to the end (I certainly could never stomach it that long)
Was that the one Ultima game where you start in some modern house in the training grounds? I remember playing that at my uncle's house as a lad.
Rule of the Rose. Who in the hell thought this game was a good idea?

Yeah. You could bake poisoned bread to give to Lord Brtish later on!

Waaaat? I admit the gameplay sucked, but the atmosphere was amazing. And that ending was a major tear jerker. Whaddaya mean, who thought it was a good idea? Nine-year-old lesbians, doggies, creepy children, giant dipping bird monsters...

Why am I always defending games in this thread? ._.

I don't remember the name but it was billed as the first rpg for the Nintendo 64. It was terrible.
Quest 64?

That is, by far, the worst game I ever played.

Quest 64.

Oh my god. That's when my dad was like "we should have bought a PLAYSTATION!" Because we hated the Zeldas, the Pokemon games were nothing like the GB ones, and then we found Quest thinking "now this we're gonna like" and... well... it's the only game my brother and I actually destroyed.
I got the N64, too, because I was expecting great things in the RPG world, since SNES had such a strong track record in that regard. Thank god for Smash Bros.

I didn't get that far. I took a "break" from it. The game just moves too damn slow for me.

I have heard that it had a great storyline though, so maybe I'll pick it up again soon... But still, running around the same building endlessly having extremely vague clues on what to do next got really old.

Sounds like Clock Tower.
I'm pretty sure the story was written by David Lynch, so don't expect it to make much sense. It does get really sad, though. Don't know how that happens, but it does.

And incidentally I also love Clock Tower. >_>
