THE GREATER RM COMMUNITY

Posts

Pages: first 12 next last
So I was trying to compile a list of RM communities (for whatever reason) and this is what I came up with:

RMN - admin
RMRK - member
RRR - member
RPGCrisis - member
Kobra's Realm - member
GW (gamingw.net) - premium member
IGP (indiegamingportal) - member
RMXP.org
rpgmakervx.net
RPG Maker Pavilion
HBGames (Home Brew)
Blade2k
Charas

All are in various states of activity and size. What other ones are out there? Even other language sites (though I restricted my search to english) like French or German or Japanese? Are you a member of these forums? Why?

I used to go GW and RRR before, but in both cases the sites died (more or less) and I also became to dislike the communities.

In RMN it's opposite with both. I usually enjoy my time in places that stay fresh and lively. (Other places I just use to release my games at.) I liked to register almost every RM site I saw, and I used to visit RPG Palace (Or what was it again?) and other old sites, but these days they seem too dead.

I've been to tons of websites but I actually like this one for the game library system. I was originally planning on just releasing stuff here, but I guess boredom took hold and now I post to the forums sporadically >.<

I haven't been to THAT many RM sites, there's probably sites with a good library system like this does with it's games.
I still am a member at GW, although I never go there anymore. That site feels sort of like it already died, and its corpse is slowly rotting away, if I can say that.

Actually, I have yet to see a game library feature as comprehensive, usable and stylish as RMN's on any other RM site.
... so it's not just me. You're lucky to have a computer programmer who was willing to write all this in his free time. Where did you find him anyway?
I have no idea - I'm the newest admin to the party. You'd have to ask Holb. WIP's been here since time immemorial.

I joined phanxgames back when I was more desperate for attention. I'm still a member of GW, too. This is the only place I frequent, though, and I hardly even do anything here. I'm a lurker to the bone.

He just felt like helping out. 8)
I'm a member of rpgmakervx.net

the community is pretty nice and it is an absolutely wonderful resource bank for VX

they also have great tutorials, if you are wanting to try VX and are having trouble with somthing like, making the maps look decent, this place is worth checking out (its the reason my first attempt at an RM project got such a decent reception here)

that being said its much easier to find, play, and download games here. That forum is more about discussion, tutorials, troubleshooting, and resource sharing
I joined rpg-atelier.net in march 2008 because I've found some RM games on a Screenfun disk some years before (this is a German game magazine; maybe also available in other languages? I don't know actually). Others are rpg2000.de or rpg2k.net and rmxp.de (Edit: renamed to rpg-studio.de). All these ones are German, but I'm not a member there. The only English forum I joined is RMN: I wanted to take a look for English RM games because Blindmind, AZNChipmunk (sorry if this nick is not 100 percent right), and other guys presented screenshots and/or their games at rpg-atelier. Also, I liked them, that's the reason I'm here (and probably to improve my English coz I think it's pretty bad D: ).

Err... I tried to join gaming ground zero any time back, but the system there called me bot. Hey, am I a spambot or something like that?

GGZ is just an island when it comes to getting new members. Actually its more of a prison island or something. No one gets in, NO ONE GETS OUT.

He's one of the site's founders? :P
@Darken:
That explains everything.
@Karsuman:
RPGmaker.net was originally founded by Rast, Kindred and Linguar. It was then passed to WIP.
Defiant: The relationship between that old site and this one is as tenuous a link as can be. The only similarity is the domain name. Seriously. =P

To be accurate, nothing was passed to me. Holbert bought the domain from Rast, who did not want it anymore.

Also, hi Defiant. =)
I registered in some RM sites, but lately I only active here and the indonesian rpgmaker community (kinda crappy and immature but at least I'm more comfortable with my own people) . It's not like any other site is still alive anyway, I mean the ones that's not too focused on the later RMs.
