There's been a lot of buzz for this thing since the concept art leaked out. Either way, GameInformer confirmed it coming to Wii next year. Later today they are going to have a video up about it.
Not much is known about the game except that it's a steampunk version of Disney. Warrent Spector, the dude who made Deus Ex and Thief and some Ultima games, is the lead behind the game. Here's some more concept art to check out:

It's like Disney realized all that Final Fantasy bullshit was dragging down Kingdom Hearts and asked a well-respected designer to fix that!

This reminds me of I, Mario (a post-apocalyptic, sci-fi horror re-imagining of the Mario series), except it's actually being developed by a reputable company.
I'm surprised Disney gave the go-ahead for this though. Doesn't seem like them to take their most iconic character, and flip him on his head.

I have to admit I would prefer if it was Donald. Because Mickey is such a boring character :D (And in my world Mickey and Donald don't occupy the same universe)
But the art style does look fairly sweet. The style seems very "euro" ("French comic book Euro").
But still I can totally see Scrooge, Donald, Huey, Dewey and Louie adventuring in a world like this. Mickey on the other hand. Not so much... He's so... traditional.

The concept art looks a million times more inspired than 95% of what was in Kingdom Hearts, but I think I'll have to check out some videos before I'm truly convinced. I'd be amazed if they pulled off that style and scope effectively on Wii.

And Epic Mickey that's like the shittest game titles I've heard! That's like instead of Halo:Reach they called it Halo:Epic(which they probably would) The word epic is so overrused these days they're starting to put it in game titles! and trying to make Disney into a Final Fantasy universe brought Kingdom Hearts down.

Hahah this is like exactly the same thing as Kingdom Hearts. Also because it is Warren Spector it will have RPG elements so it is definitely the exact same thing as Kingdom Hearts. But this looks maybe more interesting for some reason? Maybe because they took it further?

I remember an interview with Warren Spector a few years back that talked about making a possible video game with Disney and his game designing company. At the time I thought he was going to do something more along the lines of the early Capcom Disney games, though.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I probably wouldn't have bothered buying Kingdom Hearts if it was just Disney Chars. And I'm a big Disney fan. When KH came out it was really strange, completely out of left field, but somehow seemed to fit perfectly together. Until that game, I hadn't really realised how well the themes from both companies meshed. It was a phenomenal game, and it wouldn't have been half as good without final fantasy because it would have been too contrived. Without Disney, it would have been too angsty. Together, there was balance.
