Well I mean if you think that Ryu is just completely invulnerable I don't know what to tell you! There are plenty of options once you get in close; a throw, a higher priority move, footsies, an Ultra, etc. This is assuming that Ryu even will use a shoryuken once you get in close.

Also certain characters have options that nullify projectile tactics altogether. Zangief can Lariat or Banishing Fist right through fireballs. Blanka's EX Roll will also negate them, as will his slide. EX projectiles by almost any character who has one will suck up his hadoken (unless he's using an EX one as well). Some Ultras have frames of invincibility that will pass through fireballs, etc etc.

Also you know you can block moves rite?

How exactly do you "roll" through them?

He said that he uses Abel. Remember his roll ability?

If you don't know how to cancel a focus attack, you're worse than you say you are! (No offense)
Canceling moves can be quite difficult and is something I never do, but canceling a FA is easy shit.

Have you done any of the character's trial modes? I think they teach you how to do it in each one.
Anyhow, just hold a focus attack (hold the mid-punch and mid-kick buttons) and dash either forward or backwards instead of releasing the attack to cancel it.

I don't know if anybody on here has been keeping tabs but SSF4 AE will be DLC for ps3and xbox 360. Among the character tweaks, new characters yun and yang from 3rd strike have been confirmed, as well as evil ryu and oni akuma.




If the latter two will actually be playable or just boss characters is not yet known. And as always:
