COMMENT NOTICES REMOVED

If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it....................I never had a problem with how notices were handled before, but whatever is best for the site, I suppose.
Either subscribe to less games, or don't comment so often. =P
post=126730post=126636Why is this a problem? You don't have to click on every single notification, just the pages. If the flashing is annoying then a "Mark all as seen" button would solve this.

Maybe notifcations should only store 50 pages and new notifications overwrite the old ones. Also, I have never once looked at my notices if I didn't have any new ones, perhaps there is no need to store them at all?
Because there are some notifications I do want to see, and the mass amount of other ones hide those.

That really doesn't help anyone... ._.
And I support the making of the notification toggle. I bet it would be tough to make, but what doesn't kill you makes you smarter, I guess...

Like someone said before, if you're annoyed by all of the commenting, then maybe you weren't as interested in those games as you thought you were.
I never saw what the problem was. It's not as if you had to read every singe notification you got. :\
Not sure why were are discussing this anymore because comment notices are back, and WIP is A NAZI LOLOLOLOL/oto working on a solution.
I guess discussion is still open because of the possibility that new ideas may arise, and if not, why not, discussion on features of the site isn't a bad thing.
Idk people seem to be arguing about a feature that is going to stay or be changed, when they could be talking about new ideas like you just said.

I was saying that not commenting doesn't stop everyone else from commenting, but, if you're saying that people are only commenting when you comment, then I say "Lucky...!"
while i like having notices, i am getting pretty tired of getting 5 notifications for the same image. :P
You will probably notice that those notices were generated at different times, meaning Ness probably kept uploading an image over and over.
Throwing off a notice is sort of a "one-fer" and that part of the system needs to be improved.

As I mentioned. Grouping.
With those 5 images, it cold have read:
"(5) an image **** was added for ******." (recent reply 23:00)
Notice the (5)? It doesn't have to be complicated at all. If you can have it group similar results when you click on the notifications link, then it shouldn't be too bad. Group them by object, such as the above image, and the amount is determined on when you last saw the notifications. This means it's possible that this could happen:
"(2) an image **** was added for ******." (recent reply 23:00)
"(3) an image **** was added for ******." (recent reply 13:00)
Due to the time between entering the notifications. In short: Group similar notifications based on the last time you checked the notifications. Images were just an example, but it could be applied to any action.

You should be. What did you not get it for?
