I've been wanting a more open-world/sandbox-approach Pokemon game for a while. Having access to all the major regions would be pretty damn cool, especially if you weren't forced into doing the gyms in a specific order or anything.
This is why Gold and Silver are the best in the series. Pretty much entirely non-linear in the second half, once you have access to a shedload of pokemon at relatively high levels. Although I agree the Champion-shit is a bit boring now and kind of clashes with catching em all.

Beat the Elite Four today. I was seriously underleveled but it wasn't very difficult especially with a Choice Specs Lugia and a good number of healing items. (did anyone else find themselves reciting every Elite Four member's before and after-battle speeches out loud? The sense of nostalgia is overwhelming)

any one remember Joey and his fucking Ratata

anyway I got HG, and i haven't taken my Pedometer off since i got it, my girlfriend now refuses to do me but its worth it.

"Joey: Hey, do you remember my super-cool RATTATA?
MY RATTATA is different from regular RATTATA
It's like my RATTATA is in the top percentage of RATTATA
Do you know what I'm saying?

Anyway, I caught Ho Oh recently and I'm just grinding to train my starter, Pigeot, Misdrevous, and a few others.

By the way, who got the yellow forest on their pokewalker?
Don't you get the yellow forest from a Wi-Fi event?

No, through Mystery Gift. I guess that's technically Wi-Fi, though.

For those of you who care, Serebii has some really early, low quality magazine shots of the new Black/White games.

In HeartGold at present, I'm just before the 7th gym and desperately trying to catch an Elekid with the pokewalker before I move on. I'm going for a Magmortar/Electivire combo. Should be pretty groovy. After that, I just need a special sweeper and a wall of some variety.
I can't wait for Black/White, a whole new story,

But for the mean time I'm on to beating SS for about the fifth time today, It's truly sad how much I love Pokemon.

There are many reasons for me not to love this game, but it's just so addictive, and the capturing system is simply exciting.

I have phanpy on my pokewalker right now in the yellow forest, And I picked up Tyrogue, hoping to evolve it into a hitmontop.
Hey peoples, what are your thoughts on competitive pokemon battling? Have anyone tried it yet? I'm kinda interested.

It is a Blast, Kinda. Depending on who host, how its run and the type of battling. I've been to tournaments that were horrible, lots of out ranked players, so it all depends

of course you can also battle on the WiFi connection which I think ranks to find more evened out players, but that I don't know about.

I've tried to join a wifi battle, but it takes literally forever to find another player. In fact, I haven't even been through a wifi battle because it takes so long to find someone.

But yeah, eventually I would like to get involved into competitive battling somewhat. That is basically the only thing that makes Pokemon a blast for me.
