wait huh
im mildly retarded can you rephrase?
Feld can you show your mountain?
They're actually pretty organized on the tileset. I'm just not sure all of the tiles are there.

This isn't the final result (so don't cash in those bets just yet), but if you want to see if this makes any sense so far...
Honestly... I think it looks really really great. If not for the pink background, I'd say this is FF.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I can see some... "lines" that I feel like shouldn't be there.
I feel like you are not lining them up correctly. Which is unsurprising since it is a really confusing tileset.

I see them too. Unfortunately even the official original maps have a shitton of them (check it out next time you play), making reproduction via mimicry kinda unhelpful towards that end.
Trust me, you'll see such lines on actual FF maps as well. I can show you if you don't believe me.

Feld just said that.

Ah, yeah, looking at the source material, you're right, it's kind of a lost cause. They still look infinitely better than boring RTP cliffs, due to the variation.
This is why I'm using panoramas only, despite how crappy and clunky it looks when moving around (you can't go behind stuff for example). Chipsets are a pain and the only thing I can't really get around to do. It's like you have to create a puzzle, then piece it together... A struggle all around.
Dratio, the only problem using panoramas instead of tilesets is that you can't make a big map, because there's a size limit for panoramas. But that's all. No clunkiness. I did my dungeoneer game using no tilesets only panoramas. For making char move behind objects, just place pictures on top of the panorama.
But there are other advantages in using tilesets. It would be stupid/impossible to make a place like Mt.Koltz not using tiles.

Good luck with that, homie.
Finishing the map today. Sorry guys, got a little sidetracked. TCOB and all that jazz.

Wrong.
Some examples?
You can use pano mapping and walk behind stuff easily.
Figure it out.
looks like oatmeal
(that means it's pretty damn close to the real thing)
