YOU HAVE TWO HUNDRED WORDS
Posts
I've done a topic like this before, but I want to do it again.
Why should I play your game? What's good, special, unique, well-done, worthwhile?
You have two hundred words and a single image.
"But Craze, this is just you being a jerk!"
No, this is me wanting to you summarize why your game is deserving of a potential player's glance. Why should anybody care? What's there to do? Is there any point in your game, or are you just trying to make a game for the hell of it? If you don't know this about your project, you need to take a step back and evaluate your situation. The hardest part should be writing less than the word limit!
Go.

Um, you do realize 200 words isn't a small number, right? I've written book reports with less words than that.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Vindication is a constant barrage of off-the-wall comedy; a game where eccentric characters encounter absurd situations non-stop. The characters are attacked by 80s style robots from the future, struck by meteors, and forced to take pity on villains who try their best to be evil but fail miserably. But in its more serious moments, Vindication is primarily the story of one man, James Clyde. His quest for revenge against those who have wronged him rules his life, but begins to conflict with his desire to protect his daughter, while a force capable of destroying the world is left unchecked, even encouraged. It is an epic tragedy hidden within a whirlwind of wacky hijinks and terrible puns.
While unarguably a story-based game, Vindication also attempts to create a unique and interesting game that is challenging and rewarding. Constant party changes and splits keep you on your toes and require you to come up with new battle strategies constantly, while still rewarding you for developing your characters. On hard mode, the game plays almost like a survival horror game, forcing you to manage your resources wisely in order to survive the dungeons and overcome the intense challenges.

Marvel Brothel is a brothel simulator using Marvel characters. It has a story, but it's not an RPG. It's based on sim games like Theme Park or Theme Hospital. You have to make your business grow, administer your resources, etc. I really love games like that, so I decided to make one. One thing I like about this kind of games is watching you go from something small and simple to something big, elaborate and harder to deal with. In Marvel Brothel, you start with a pretty bare establishment and just a couple of working girls, but as you hire more girls and buy items, it becomes something completely different. A bigger brothel will attract more clients, and I think it's fun just watching the whole thing come to life, like it's an organism functioning on its own, even though you have to do stuff on it.
I guess everybody loves Marvel characters, so that's a plus. They're all there. There's actually no sexual content in the game, apart from obvious references to sex. It contains humor, but it's not a comedy game. People say it's somewhat addicting, but it's not endless. It can be beaten in about 6 hours.

This topic intrigues me and I think I'll participate once I'm not dying of heatstroke since our central air decided to give out.

Btw, let me just say I'll read everything posted on this topic (and probably other people will do it to), so it's a good opportunity for advertisement (even though it's seems like Craze is just trying to imply people are too incompetent to advertise their own games).

Excuse me, I take offense to your suggestion that I'm not really as incompetent as Craze thinks. I'm plenty incompetent.

200 words sounds like a lot but it really isn't. Once you've been writing for a while you actually find it harder to keep inside a 500 or less wordspace then write in a 200+ one.
WeaponBirth

I don't really have a picture of this specifically yet..
And yes, my head is mostly connected correctly.

Yeah, I need to rewrite my game description too. Even if it's a for-the-gamers work of love thing, you still need to market the game to reach people. I'm planning on designing a "box" art poster along with the blurb you would find on the back of the "box". I really like Dru Struzan's work on how the poster has a great impact and is in itself a visual summary of the entire movie.
Hero's Realm
Generic RM2k3 RTP Gaming Fun!
"I always wanted to make that game based on everything I enjoyed as a kid. This is the end result."
Lead four heroes and their teams against the evil forces of Mephistocles, the Lord of Demons in this retro-RPG adventure. Toggle between the four heroes as you explore dungeons, ascend towers, spelunk caves, save villages and defeat the forces of evil! Reminiscent of classic RPGs such as Dragon Quest III and Final Fantasy V, Hero's Realm is a fun romp in old-school RPG nostalgia.
Highlights:
-22 character classes (12 base classes, 4 hero classes, 3 secret classes, 3 master classes)
-TONS of game content and sidequests
-Classic NES-era and SNES-era RPG gameplay
-Great music
-Multi-party switching system (like Kefka's Tower in FFVI!)
-Multi-party tactical battles (at least 5 of them!)
-Massive world map
-Fun
The story is split into 5 chapters, with each of the first four chapters focusing on a new hero, and the 5th chapter bringing them all together.

Chronology of the Last Era
http://rpgmaker.net/games/555/
Chronology of the Last Era is my earnest attempt to not only have you play and enjoy an RPG, but to get engrossed in its world. Two of my favorite RPGs are FFVI and Xenogears, and the main reason why I love those titles is because of the presentation of the setting and the world they offer. Those games and games like them never fail to leave me enraptured and enthralled in what's going on with the people and places in them, and I want to convey that same feeling with players here. I go for how the player ultimately feels.
I offer a dark, smooth world for my players to explore, and I want them to have a vested, sincere interest in what goes on as they progress through the game. Gameplay wise, I offer a lot of ways to reward creativity, customization, and character building. I understand the idiosyncracies of RM2K3 and I work hard to make my game have a professional polish and presentation.
In essence, I want developers to forget they're playing an RPG Maker game, and players to remember they're playing an indie game that was ultimately a labor of love from a fellow gamer.
