Lol, I'm kinda called Desmond. :p
And that is cool, lol. Might not end up being the story though.

I seriously don't expect you to understand my last post.
How about we keep it something relatively simple? After all, with a community project it's best to keep things nice and easy so that they eventually get finished.

I'd also like to request Yanfly's System script to be used so that players can rid themselves of the annoying walk speed.
Well that's the initial idea, actually. Something simple, yet unique and creative.

And it'll probably be used, since I have loads of windowskins I wanna show off. ^^;

He has to learn the meaning of teamwork. He is really abusive and bitter in his old age.
His name is Desmond Spiteth. (Despite's ancestor). travelling the mythical land of Ramonica with his squire and much abused underling, Dudely Softmoore (my ancestor), Deesmond will meet new army members and unlock magical amulets with the power to unite the army.

....fff I dunno. use it or abuse it

This would be a great game.

Only a professional could come up with such a great plot.

I like vx...
I'd love to join. I can't draw but I can write! I'm guessing you're the game master Dezz (assumptions are kinda dangerous). So, I'd like to get in on this whenever there are a few more writers to get together and brainstorm ideas and such.
I'd like to help if the project interests me. My strongest point is balancing stats and skills in the database. I can also handle writing (although English not being my first language can be a problem) and mapping.

Anyway, how do you intend to start this project? The different components aren't exactly independent of each other. For example, if the story makes a big deal out of the main character being able to summon creatures from other worlds, ideally that should also be a big deal during combat. Likewise, whether the game is exploration based like Visions and Voices or more "run trough dungeons in order" like most RPGs, will determine what stories are possible. Any idea how you will coordinate this project?
CrystalGate - That'll be easy, once we get a storyline that most are okay with. It'll be a short game anyways.

Fallen-Griever - Sorry if I chose the wrong engine, but it's the one I wanted to use and I'm sticking with that engine since I find it best for me.
You can't really get much people if you have no core idea to start with, all people know is... the game is going to be in VX. That's it.

Oops! I saw the other thread for this project first. My opinion can be found there.
I stated a few things.
It's in VX, it's got a base storyline, it's a community project, I'm needing writers, mappers, eventers and such, the storyline might get changed due to the writers' opinions. I'll state more now though.
It's an RPG, which I think I stated...
It'll be a short game.
Members can drop in their maps/events by creating a new project with them in and sending them via PM to me.
I will post a screenshot on what a member has done when added into the game.
We need a name for it, along with a title (once the storyline is decided).
Once a member has sent me their creation, I will add it into the game and add them as a Developer.
There will be a few areas, each with specific maps, and the mappers can choose an area which isn't taken.
The database will be left bearing the Actors, until the scripts are chosen, to set it up so it's perfectly compatible with them. This goes for Switches and Variables too.
If you make an area a specific way (a map leads to a certain other map via a certain route, etc.) I would prefer transfer events.
The graphics will be shared on the initial thread (~~community project~~), like tilesets.
This does sound like you asking for other people to do the work for you. I'm sorry, but I can't help. (Mostly because I don't have VX, and can't download it anyway. :/)

Here, I found the old Missiongarde forum topic. Note the level of detail.
Sorry about the double-post, it won't let me edit.
After reading Kentona's Missiongarde thread, I noticed this needs a HUGE improvement, so here goes.

Information:
This project will be made on RPG Maker VX, and will hopefully be a community project, with me as the lead. There are a few reasons why I wanted to make this a community project, but I will talk about them later. It's going to be using some of Yanfly's scripts, and a few others to give it a unique appearance, but it's still undecided. There are a few things people can help with, such as;
Mapping
Eventing
Writing
Naming Skills, Weapons, Items
Graphic making, such as a title
Scripters, for custom scripts

Reason for the Community Project:
Sometimes, working on a game by yourself can be frustrating, especially when you're having to do something which you don't know how. Like, I suck at making mountains, so I'd normally ask for help. Community projects basically help rid that problem, by people being able to work with each other and helping out. If you've came up with an idea, you can get opinions on it and be able to progress easier. You don't end up with loads of work 'stacked up' for you to do so long as it's organised.
If you're stuck, you can work with others to become unstuck, and so on. I also find them fun to do, so long as you know what you're doing.

The Storyline:
A huge threat has reached Landor, which intends to wipe the nature and life from it. However, 4 young individuals have the power to save it - handed down from Gods who they worship. The threat has found out about this, and intends on stopping them before they get too strong, so it sends out you and your assistant to defeat them, and prevent them from saving Landor.
That's kind of a drafted idea.

Database & Scripting:
Before I begin the database, I wanted to see if I could get ideas for skills, items, weapons and armor.
If anyone would like to help, please fill out this form:
Name:
Description: What does it do?
Parameter Changes: Atk, Def, Spi, Agi? For Weapons/armor and items
Animation?: Does it have an animation?
Elements/States Any element or state? Fire, Poison, Confusion, etc.
Passive Is it a passive? Only for skills
Class Type Is it for Healers/Swordsmen?

Also, the database will be done after the scripts are chosen. That way there won't be any clashes or errors.

Systems:
The systems are like Menu, Battles, Scenes and maps. For example, you might have it set up so you can go underneath ceilings, like on RPG Maker 2k3, or you might have a different, custom menu.
The battle system will be a fusion of 2. Yanfly Engine Melody, and a game battle, like Rock, Paper, Scissors, which will be evented.
The menu might be custom, with pictures, or it might be Melody.

It's the members' choices aswell though.

About the Skills:
The skills will be in the subcategories;
Rejuvenation - Healing, holy and state changes.
Telekenesis - Mind damaging, Absorbing, Demi type magic.
Assault - Weapon skills, No magic, High Damage.
Dark - States, Some dark magic.
Thievery - Steal/Mug, Blinding, dark magic.
Mageni - Steal opponents magic or skills, or learn. No magic at beginning.
Arcane - Wind-type, stealth.
Mage - Fire, Ice, Thunder, Water, natural elements.
High-Mage - Healing/Mage.

The skills can also be like Scan, Convert and Money Throw.
Scan - Find an enemy's information or statistics.
Convert - Swap HP to MP or vice versa.
Throws money at an enemy to deal damage. Money/10 = Damage

Mapping & Eventing:
I will handle most of the maps or events, bearing a few that I cannot do, or what members would like to do. The maps should be detailed, with plants, nature, houses if a town, rocks, etc. and not looking bare. The tileset might be RTP and Mack, since I really like them.

Areas:
You can either do a few maps you want, or an area. An area is a few maps related to each other, with transfer events. For example, a forest or cave is an area, the Town is not, unless it's in districts or parts.

Graphical Side:
There's not much point with custom graphics, like tilesets unless it's decided before we begin work on the project and I send it to all the mappers, since we don't want to get muddled up with the wrong tilesets and I import the maps into the game with loads of weird tiles everywhere. I'll post the tilesets we'll be using on the initial thread once decided.

Other graphics, like the Title or Windowskin would be custom, so once we've got an initial storyline and name if someone wouldn't mind I'll request one. I'll make the windowskin, along with various other graphics.

Credits:
The credits will be updated after every addition is in the game or made. The person who made the addition will become a developer, and I will make a page with the list of people who have helped, along with Script/Graphic/Audio credits.

Hope this is enough, if not, please state and I will further update this.
This sounds cool.
Sign me up as a mapper/eventer/scripter if you want. ;)
