*Player completes quest and moves on to next area after gaining a few levels*

NPC: "May I welcome you to *area*. We choose not to trouble ourselves with other regions and, as it would appear, our problems are our own. Our town has seen its fair share of attacks, therefore I'm going to need for you to go out into the field and slay spiders. Bring back twenty of their carapaces for a nifty pair of gauntlets."

I'll get it. It may hold my interest for a few months, but once the endgame rolls around, I'll stop playing until the next content update comes up. I've currently stopped wotlk because my guild is unable to down the Lich King, and it's annoying to spend several hours, 2 days a week, killing the same bosses in the same place with the same people, who make the same stupid mistakes, over and over and over again.

This is how I expect cataclysm to turn out.
