I loved that game! I think it's a cool choice for remaking!
Sorry if this is somewhere else, I did a quick search but found nothing.

Comes out in Japan November 11th. Famitsu's been writing a lot about it. I'm picking it up if it gets a PSN release, which it should.
I've seen it and the translated trailer, yeah. Denam is unattractive, but I really like Clautia and Vice(?).
I wonder what happened to Eleanor and to others (*from GBA version: Knight of Lodis) in the remake? I wish they're available here on PSP rendition :3
Knight of Lodis takes place like thirty years before Let Us Cling Together.
Eleanor is quite dead and Alphonse - well, you know.

Great game. Frustrating as hell though, every time one of my men died I had to reset because you can't revive characters once they die.
Not that is was a bad thing, it gave it some challenge, but they might be nice this time around and allow some revival thing in the game, or make a mode where there are no revival items.

I hope they do some tweaking. On the whole it was less balanced than FFT, but thankfully didn't have any game-breaking shit like Weigraf. Knight of Lodis was a big improvement on balance and map design... so I guess they can look at the sequel for ideas.
I hope they fix the 'save this important NPC who will immediately rush the enemy forces by his/her lonesome and get his/her face kicked in' part.
J-man I think they had a spell where you could revive your characters but only IN THE BATTLE THEY DIED, if you let the battle end, they were gone for good. It was HOLY element if I'm not mistaken. I think there even was a spell that allowed you to bring them back as undead.
Vice was one the most enigmatic characters to be friend of a RPG hero. In one route he was a total douchebag, but in the other one he was awesome.
The translated official names are kinda weird though this time around.
I liked Denim Powell better than "Denam Pavel" (?)

If I remember right, you brought them back as undead by having them equip some kind of ring that turns them into a lich when revived. I don't think it was a unique spell that made actually made them undead, but it's been an exceedingly long time.

Does it have "game breaking shit" like Orlandu though?

I actually kind of liked these battles because they were really challenging!
The worst ones are definitely the 'charmed Selye on top of a fort with Templar Oz' battle and the snowfield battle where you can get Haborym in one route. It was nigh impossible to save them without very specific approaches to the battlefields (those strategies being fast characters/flyers with bows and no armor :P).
But yeah I'd appreciate them not running into enemies like a huge dumbass. Selye, you seemed so intelligent...

This isn't so bad once you get the spell, because your priest should never be in range of the enemy with their spell casting range being so massive. You always get the spell during one of the chapter 2 routes, late in the chapter, from an important enemy.
Best part: In the law route chapter 2, there is a battle with Vice and Aloser towards the end of the chapter. Aloser is the one that drops the revive scroll but she is not the required kill target. If you do not kill Aloser during the fight, SHE WILL NOT DROP THE SCROLL.
And you will not get another copy. Ever. =D
(I always hate killing Aloser because she is an amazing PC in an amazing class of the best element for archers, as a side note ;_;)

The evil rings do that yeah, but there is also a darkness spell named Necro that does indeed turn people undead. It's kind of terrible, though.
Does it have "game breaking shit" like Orlandu though?
There are some mechanical issues with how characters work (the weight system heavily favors lightly-armed characters at times) and some balance issues with classes (Archers are the best character class).
There are also some strong special PCs, like Canopus, a bird man who is a monster on the battlefield as well as people like Vice, Deneb, Kachua and Haborym.
None of them really approach the broken that is orlandu, though. Even with Haborym petrifying everything in sight.
I hope they fix the 'save this important NPC who will immediately rush the enemy forces by his/her lonesome and get his/her face kicked in' part.
Those were my favorite too!
*Conditions for winning, save Rafa!*
*Rafa walks directly into two ninjas that proceed to two shot her before you get a turn*
~Fission Mailed~
*Conditions for winning, save Rafa!*
*Rafa charges directly into two special class assassin characters who have a 100% chance for a one hit kill*
~U lose~
@Nightblade - Oh the memories come rushing back... I didn't experience the problem with the first fight when you have to save Rafa, but the second time... wow... I can't count how many times the dumb bitch walked right into Celia and Lede's Stop Bracelet. X_X
Anyway.
Yeah, I am really looking forward to this actually. I recently bought the PSX game a little while back, so a huge rush of nostalgia came and I was like. This game is so awesome!! One of many reasons is mostly the music really gets me hyped, especially the song called "Fight it out!" one of my favorite tracks in the game.
Same with the Ogre Intro to every game (I don't know if it was in Ogre Battle 64 or not.) But speaking of the Ogre series, I wonder if they'll do another like Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. Like a new game or a HD remake on PSP/PS3. While I can't really see the chances of it happening, it'd be great. I had a hell of a time playing it on the SNES. :D

On the plus side, you can just not save them. Saving somebody is never a victory condition, but if they die they will be removed from the story forever.
I've been contemplating having another run through on that game, but where I get caught up is the training. I have this habit of over-powering my characters in the beginning and then rushing through the game (because I hate training them and then OH NOES, they die.)
I'd like to play through and get all the endings as well as the Gunner class and beat the hidden dungeon.
Personally...beast character in the game is Canopus. Fast, strong, able to fly and shoot arrows with deadly accuracy, good with spears as well which makes it to where he'll hardly get attacked...just his special spells suck...ass.
And Vice -- Good man, good man...on the right route. Kascha however comes off as a whineass no matter what route you take. At least to me.
