Only thing I would say this early on is the transitions could be faster, even a 13 frame long zoom in of the avatars can feel a bit cumbersome. May look cool the first time but it adds up when you want to do the usual management.

I really think the best way to spiff up menus is just add some flourish *AFTER* you make the input rather than before or during. Meaning there's an instant transition but maybe an after-image effect or a lingering glow on your last selection. Something to think about anyway.

Yuup I know what you mean, especially with how frequently the Menu will be accessed. I'll definitely tone down those wait times! yeah that's some good advice, the menu isn't finalized yet so getting this kind of feedback is great

I'm working on some CMSes and, given I know very little about graphic design and my idea of how to make good GUIs is basically taken straight from attempts at imitating old SNES game menus, I'll probably need a lot of feedback :(. They're still not in a presentable state, however.

EDIT: also, I'm implementing decent diagonal movement (that is, instead of halting when encountering an obstacle, the character tries to "slide" along it). The RTP graphics are all placeholders for the test map.

Currently wrapping up the last scene and final round of NPC dialogue for my latest game update.

This one has taken long enough compared to the previous updates that most of my subscribers have probably concluded the game is dead by now. That's what I get for putting more NPC dialogue in one ~3 hour update than some entire 10+ hour games.

If even one person downloading the game is as invested in NPCs as I am... then it's probably getting more players than I expect it to. It's extremely self-indulgent, but I'll be glad if anyone enjoys it when it's out.
I have finished my 11 1/2 year old game! Well, I say "finish", but really, I just finish the main game itself, so it CAN be played from start to finish 100%. I just need to polish things up (some things I'm debating on), including:

*Changing treasures in dungeons. Some have WAY too many treasures, and some don't need what they have. I'm also thinking of having one special chest per dungeon that gives special equipment or items, which requires finding a way to said chest, or using a special item to open them that you get later in the game, or something.
*Removing the crafting shop. It's mostly useless and would take a lot to code the stupid thing, but Nitori's special abilities will still be here. This will also save a lot of time having to grind for items to get these equipment too (meaning I can also give the equipment as boss steals/drops, treasure chests, etc.), or as part of sidequests, if I actually put in sidequests.
*Touching up on character skills and enemies/bosses. There's...honestly not THAT much that needs done in that department. For the most part, everyone's already fully set. The only one that comes to mind that REALLY needs help is Remilia maybe...
*Finishing a couple character's battle animations. They're still missing all sprites overall.
*Finishing battle animations for skills. There's a LOT here that's not done at all, which is...troublesome...
*Polishing weapons. This one I'm highly debating on, if only because does every weapon need a special effect, outside of improving the character's passives or secondary commands? All of Patchouli's weapons give +/-X% to elemental resists on enemies, and one of Reimu's weapons gives her healing +50% power, but no other weapons really DOES anything. For those curious, this is what I have on that:

So yeah...that's all that's really left! I've been debating if I want to mark the game as "Complete" in the profile, but since there's still the polishing up...yeah. If anyone would like to help with finally finishing this game via testing the game or whatnot, I'd love that! ^^

Trying to make this sprite of the protagonist of my new game look right from the side. I'm happy with how she looks from the front and the back, but try as I might, she still looks weird from the side. Her arm looks way too beefy, like she's a bodybuilder little girl or something. Any suggestions?

I have finished my 11 1/2 year old game! Well, I say "finish", but really, I just finish the main game itself, so it CAN be played from start to finish 100%. I just need to polish things up (some things I'm debating on)

I've been following your posts in this thread for what feels like years, always fascinated by the depth of your mechanics and general scope of your game. Congrats.
Thanks, though even though it's done, it's still not done if you know what I mean. Still got a looooot of stuff to clean up and the like. ^^;
What i'm working on? I'll let this speak for me! :D

Looks Amazing Macbeth! Can't wait to see it live.
Databasing (database setup) for a brand new game. Usually my favorite part, but damn I'm rusty.
Trying to figure out if I'm not using this DynRPG plugin right or not (the Monster Scale and EXPPlus plugins), and also wondering if anyone fixed the really bad bugs with the RPS plugin. That was such a nice plugin, but hit with such a nasty fatal bug that prevented it from being used for me. : <

Sprites, not much else.

Looks real cool, like a GBA game.

EDIT: Also, I'm working on listing the things I want to "test out" in the first gameplay demo of my new game. So far, I'm thinking about including:
- All menus and HUDs (so that people can comment on their appearance and ease of use).
- Simple examples of the combat and movement mechanics (so I can actually gauge how hard, as well as how fun, combat and movement actually are)
- Simple examples of puzzles (again, to check how well those are handled and what ideas I should ditch or improve upon)
- Easy to find secrets with zero gameplay effect hidden in some nooks and crannies (just to let the players know that exploration is supposed to play a key role in the future game)

Anything else you guys would include in a gameplay demo? I don't think it'd make sense to include too much story in one, since that's supposed to be one of the core elements of the actual full game.
After the seasons event, I want to work on a project that will probably take me a while...I am almost not sure where to start haha. I brainstormed a bit and have come up with a general plot:

Lady Jane, heir to the royal family, is going on a quest to discover why her mother has suddenly gone very ill, and has bouts of terrible madness. It turns out that their immense power comes at a price, and all in the royal family are doomed to the same fate...

The setting is a little difficult to explain, but basically our world went haywire with genetic testing and experiments, technology has mostly gone to ruins, and people have reverted back to a monarchical government (since no one really trusts the public with democracy anymore). Due to all of the genetic engineering, animals can communicate with people via a translator, and somewhere along the line, something akin to magic formed. So basically, it's a post-apocalypse sci-fi with fantasy elements. Wow, that sounds wild when put into words :P.
Still struggling with a particular character. She's meant to be the equivalent of the FFT Arithmetician/Calculator but...well, let this explain it:

Skillset (all attacks are unblockable and cannot be reduced in damage):

*First Pyramid: Damage = Keine's EXP/500. 18 MP, 80% accuracy.
*Ephermerality 137: Damage = Enemy's Defense * 5. 32 MP, 80% accuracy.
*Buretsu Crisis: Damage = #ofEscapes/3. 16 MP, 80% accuracy.
*Masakado Crisis: Damage = #ofBattles/3. 20 MP, 80% accuracy.
*Yoshimitsu Crisis: Damage = Enemy's Attack *5. 36 MP, 80% accuracy.
*Phantasmal Emperor: Damage = Keine's Attack + Keine's Magic *3. 40 MP, 80% accuracy.
*Legend of Gensokyo: Damage = Keine's Magic - Enemy's Defense *5. 40 MP, 80% accuracy.
*Gods' Realm: HP Restore = Target's Level *50. 40 MP, targets party.
*Emperor of the East: Damage = Keine's Attack + Keine's Defense + Keine's Magic + Keine's Speed. 60 MP, 70% accuracy.
*Amaterasu: Damage = Enemy's Attack + Enemy's Defense + Enemy's Magic + Enemy's Speed. 60 MP, 70% accuracy.
*Rain in Showa: The higher Keine's levels, the more statuses are cured. 26 MP, targets party.
*Mito no Mitsukumi: If Keine's HP is 10 or less, damage done is 9999. Otherwise, damage done is 1. 10 MP, 100% accuracy.
*Yamato Kingdom: Damage = Enemy's HP. If current HP is greater than 9999, damage done is 9999 instead. 75 MP, 70% accuracy.

She kinda is one, but at the same time, kinda isn't. The problems here are kinda apparent, but another problem is you can't see the enemy's stats ever, so you'll never be able to tell just how strong a particular skill would be in that fight. And most of them are kinda...samey?? Anyone have any good suggestions for such a skillset? One that doesn't require editing 600+ battle events per skill? ^^;

Actually, what are people's opinions on this particular playstyle/class for a character? o.o?

Working on a simple pixellated HUD for an old school RM2K3 ABS project. Yes, I know, ABSes tend to suck on RM2K3, but I just need to give this one a try.

The upper left corner shows the currently equipped weapon, alongside the current amount of health (big red hearts) and the maximum (small empty hearts).

Thoughts?
I'm working on functions on my RPG Framework in Game Maker Studio 2.
Once I finish most of the core functions I plan on working on a few shaders, I've never written a shader before but honestly a RPG kit doesn't need that many shaders if any... a screen tint and day/night shader would be it.

I'm probably going to bead though since I have be to work in 9 hours.

Making a super-simple version of twenty-one were Aces are always valued at one. That's more to make it easier on me than attempting to program them to be either one or eleven.

Anyway, the thought was to make that the singular one of the gambling mini-games in SuikoProject. Though, given the game's background, maybe I should make an attempt at emulating Chincirorin? I dunno. I don't 100% recall the rules of that game, and I'm in no rush to look them up either. I'll be playing Suikoden 2 soon enough anyway and I can find out that way.
