and this one needs houses to be this big.
I beg your pardon? A house the size of 3 square tiles is big?

Also, we can't have random boxes.? STONE everyone.

Stone boxes then. The material isn't the point, the real point is having random stuff lying around to show the town is inhabited.

However, each one fails to realize that the town goes Up-and Down, and is not WIDE. Harmons for example. he cuts all access to the top of town.

Way to completely miss the point.

As for everything else mentioned, i would agree if the maps I was given example of were not worse looking then the original picture.

I'll be blunt: You are hopeless.

People repeatedly give you honest, constructive criticism in the hopes of helping you become a better mapper. However, you always respond with "That's not what I want", "My houses must be this tiny big", or "Everything else looks horrible" and flip everyone off before ending with "I'll take some of these points I found I liked into account" in an attempt to save yourself. Every single time.

Seriously, what is your god damn problem?

---------------

As for what I'm currently working on, I am currently working on how to more effectively watch anime on my computer.

My problem is you are an idiot, and you don't realize that the town has a story of how the town was made. many things I Saw in the example goes against this entirely.

So like I said, I believe I will have to edit the tileset. It has to be based on the story of how it was made. I never said I wasn't going to change it. Which just proves you are even more of an idiot.

All I can say is at least you can use those examples as inspirations on how to improve your mapping, and then use these examples as "templates" for your whole "stone" theme. After that it's just either have to find the tileset yourself or make your own to suit the stone theme.
You came here asking for help.
You dismiss all help for some reason or another.
Please stop asking for help.

If your city has a theme or plan, then you need to just make it as it should look. Why do you even ask for help when nobody could possibly know the connection that town has in the story and all the rules that need to go into making it work. You didn't say anything about that before. The way you respond to help it sounds like you always know better and we're always wrong.

So who else is working on stuff? Ever since I downloaded NeedforSpeed I've been neglecting my game making. I think I'll do a bit of work in SMBX tommorow.
what is the story behind making the houses tiny and peppering the ground with random holes of water.

Is the town inhabited by the last remnants of the gnome people, wiped out by a freak meteorite shower

Chairman, please try to learn how not to quadruple post. Also don't flagrantly insult people. Last warning. <3
I already said I would use some of the ideas AND make the tileset.

But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Flagrantly insult people? I'm being insulted as well.

Edit: Actually, since WIP technically helped me indirectly get a bunch of my games, I will try to refrain.

You called Arthur an idiot, twice.

No one is insulting you.
But you make it really hard not to.
You really start forcing people to get aggravated with you.
They try to help, but it is never good enough.
This sounds like a problem to me.

Why would you instigate by responding to something that was just concluded?

Revtor Town was made 200 years ago during ancient times. There was a war between the Dark Forces and The Soldiers of light. The fight was over who would control a mystical item called the Wind Relic. An item with massive powers.

After Decades of fighting, A warrior named Marco with the help of the 7 legendary sages sealed the remaining dark forces on an island. The town of Revtor was in ruins. To protect Revtor from other threats, the town was remade with stone with a waterway under the town so that enemies would not be able to infect/Destroy the towns resorces. The idea to build the town with stone, was so the city would survive the greatest disasters so that the King of the city (At the time) Could Guard one of the Wind Relics.

This was because, after sealing the Dark forces (Name is spoiler) , the Wind Relic was reacting strangely to the Evil Souls of the sealed enemies. So the Sages split it into Multiples relics. To ensure no one released them, A few of the warriors were asked to Put a few of the Wind Relics at different locations on the ;land they were on. This caused the land to float into the Sky. It was then Known as Sky Island.

Fast Forward to the present time, A guy(Name is spoiler) Finds this artifact that was used amongst the dark forces to communicate. The guy was contacted telepathically by the Dark forces leader. After finding A sacred magic staff, the Guy was able to release some of the Dark Creatures. The Dark leader said he would need him to generate enough darkness so he would have a body again. but first he must destroy Sky Island.

On Sky Island, a Boy (Name is spoiler) was being taken care of by the King of Sky Island as requested by the boys father on the earth below. As the guy and the revived dark army started attacking innocent people, cities, and villages.

Soon after, The Advisor of King Oswald(King of Sky Island) warned that darkness was being sensed. Soon after, the Sky Army spotted the Dark Forces, as they attacked the Island. Soon, they had destroyed to of the three Wind Relics that had been keeping the Island a float. The King and Advisor told the boy mentioned before, that he was the only one who could leave Sky Island because he was not originally from there. This was because when the Seven Sages died long ago after the war, they became spirits that were guardians of Sky Island. All people on Sky Island can't leave without the permission of the spirits. As people who were originally inhabitants could not leave the barrier there to protect them without the spirits help.

The Advisor said that the last Relic was broken, and that Sky Island was going to fall into the ocean. Because of the barrier, the Island would sink to the bottom of the seas. As hoe seemed lost, the King mentioned to the boy about the other Wind Relics that formed the core of the original down on earth. As the Dark army started draining the spirits energy. The Wind spirits had enough energy to use another magic spell. The advisor and King told the boy that if he can find those core Wind Relics, and bring them to back to the original area were the Island was made many, many years ago. Then there is a chance the Sky Island will be revived, and so will all the people.

But, as for now, there was no way for the people of Sky Island to survive the crash into the ocean. The King then said if the Boy didn't do it in time. Then the magic will ware off, and all the people will be dead. As their souls would no longer be protected by the Wind Spirits magic. So the Advisor teleports the Boy to the Earth below. The boy swears he will help stop the evil army and revive pretty much the only family he knew and maybe even find his father, and starts his adventure.

This is where the game pretty much begins.
okay first of all i did not need all of that

but they can infect the water supply? I can see it! Anyone could just drop like generic walmart brand poison in there! also none of that addresses the "tiny house" thing. Have you considered gnomes and a meteorite shower?
Personaly, I have seen MANY RPGS with small houses. (Even pokemon) I really don't think the houses size is a problem because if I was using a Previous version of RPGM and made the house the same way, it would look like more of a house then VX. So as I said, I think I need to edit a few tiles.
so the houses don't have to be small....oh...
I should probably stay out of this, especially since there's a good chance this guy is a troll, but...

Current year: 2011
2011 - 200 = 1811

1811. The industrial era sure is ancient.

Also, I'm not entirely sure where architecture made of stone for the sake of keeping away disasters translates to "No stone ever, for anything!" I'm pretty sure the material of things like boxes is completely unrelated to the city's ability to withstand natural disasters.

Also, by that logic, these poor souls are sleeping on stone beds.

2011 - 200 = 1811?

Uh, you do realize that this game tkaes place were KNIGHTS, and WIZARDS apparently existed? Please don't troll.

Another game I was able to get back that was originally mine:

It's a Sonic platforming game. If you see something wrong anywhere point it out. Actually, let me reword that, if you have any suggestions, let me know.
So basically, there's a ruined town with an underwater waterway, remade with stone. That's all we needed to know.

God, you know there's so much you could do with that idea that isn't what you are doing. Fine, you can have small huts, but make them huts. I used the same f'king tile that you used for your stone house walls. I added the matching roof to further the allusion to it being made from stone. Even if a house is made of stones more often than not they will be in a brick-like shape - unless some magician carved out rooms from actual boulders, in which case your huts do not work.

We've seen enough of your screenshots, open a new thread or something, nobody cares man.

For starters use outlines and correct tiles.
