CloseWow, what a crazy few months it has been. RMN has obviously been through some interesting staff shake-ups lately.
I have returned to try and help stop some of the madness going on here. It is not my primary focus. The site needs a technical mind to spin the wheels behind it.
What does the future hold for the site? No idea. I initially wanted to post "RMN4 is now in development!" but I am honestly tired. There are a lot of great ideas floating around that would drastically improve the site. Unfortunately ideas are free and cheap but work is not.
In more positive light, a lot of great things happened in 2010 for RMN! We had a handful of very successful events. Super RMN Bros. was a successful event that created a really bad Mario game! Hopefully our skills have improved since that debacle and we will have even more events this year.
Game profiles have also started packing a lot of visual punch to them. Very nice to see some people flexing their design muscle.
The 2010 Misaos garnered twice as many votes as the previous year. That's better, but people really do need to vote more.
People do need to stop being so poisonous. Not every thing that is done is out of spite or selfishness. This site is supposed to be about creating games. Why are we not creating games? Why are people getting bogged down in senseless gossip? I love to chit-chat myself, but there is a point where it becomes toxic and paralyzing.
We need more games being made. More passion pumping through our veins! Less talk, more make.

WIP is serious about this. Even though I am no longer staff, I will still be on your asses about this as well. It doesn't take a dark blue name to want a game dev site to perform game development!

Voting for the Misaos is easier than writing a review or even soapboxing on the forums. If people don't vote it's their problem and not the system's, which in its current state is a truly democratic process with no bias.
That aside, it's nice to know WIP has returned as an advisor of sorts to set things straight.
I assumed "format wasn't balls" to mean "format wasn't so hard to use", as that seems to be the biggest gripe with RMN people not contributing anything. I apologize if I assumed wrong.
Either way though, there's really nothing more to be done to get people to vote.

I've said it a few times, I'll say it again: I like the site just the way it is, and though changes are often welcome, I have no complaints. I don't see anything wrong, or broken, or needing to be changed.

For a website looking for members to create things, a project of mine just got shot down & denied. I will just have to provide more thought in the info statement.
So glad WIP is back. It's like Jesus returning to Nazareth! Now for hundreds of years of peace and prosperity! :D

Net people will always be poisonous. We always seem to watch or listen to negative reviews because they're funny. AVGN makes a living at it.
Then it's clear that what this site need is a ribbon... to protect itself against "poison", "toxin", "paralyze" and other bad ailment status. Haha! (...sorry, couldn't resist)
In all seriousness thought, I'm really looking forward to this new year, not only for all the cool changes it seems there are going to be, but also because I'm relatively new around here and still pretty unfamiliar with many things, but I hope to catch up, eventually... like with the misaos, I really tried to vote but couldn't make head or tails out of the voting system with such a short amount of time left, and I browsed many game profiles, opened dozens of tabs, checked out some games I was interested in but couldn't play them all, so at the end I just said to myself: "oh, screw it, until 2011" Heh;
