I'd say the only chance of it literally blinding you is if you hold it close to your face with maximum 3D and play it for like 8 hours straight.

Just like Virtual Boy, that's synonymous with "killer video game syndrome". I own one and have no problem playing it for hours. It's like anything else, moderate amounts will be fine but those who over-do it will suffer from something and it will scare people. Then they sue. So Nintendo puts out information saying it can be harmful in large doses because of those morons in an attempt to protect themselves. Like all those warnings at the start of a Wii game and the pamphlets you get with a game system outlining the hazards. It's for all those morons out there.

It's exactly like playing on your PC will give you carpal tunnel if you do it for hours on end, or lots of food will make you fat, or over working muscle will probably do more harm than good. You know how when you turn on the DS now and it says MAY CAUSE SEIZURES PRESS A TO CONTINUE how many people have you heard having seizures? Just because it has happened (which, the blindness actually never has happened) doesn't mean it will happen everywhere all the time. That's just ignorant. If it caused blindness I'm pretty certain that it would never even go on the market.

But in all honesty (and the presidents) I think that at least with the 3DS has a HIGHER chance of causing the problem Not to necessarily go blind. But eye damage in general. I mean, for all we know it may just be enough to make you get glasses for awhile.

How? PSP always was the expensive alternative to the DS. It also focused to much on features. But once in awhile, people actually play PSP games. More so now since Gamespots in the area have put the PSP section back up instead of putting the games on a random shelf in a corner.
I looked at the lineup for the 3DS and only one game seemed interesting (DINOSAURS FIGHTING! YEAH!) so I don't think I'll be getting one.
Also, I just read that Nintendo is not recommending 3DS for children under 6, as it could affect vision development.

same warning regarding the virtual boy. Vision is still develloping in children of that age, and the pseudo 3d (not to mention the eye seering red) would damage them if they used it for a certain amount of time.
EDIT: makes me wonder if the movie theater 3d has a simmilar warning...
On another matter, what's with all this president says bullshit? I have no idea where it came from, or where it is relevant to this conversation, so I will henceforth ignore it.
