...And we actually did give what they asked for too in the middle of the humor, surprisingly. It's actually been a little productive given the circumstances.

honestly it was pretty negative and most posts did not even respond directly to the poster in any kind of positive way outside of Tyger, Nessy and Shinan. Religious belief/indoctrination and such can be discussed yes, but it's not like a CRITICAL HIT CHANCE topic where no one gives a shit if you blast people over their belief IN NUMBERS. A lot of posts were RELIGION LOL REMEMBER THAT SODOM AND GOMORRAH SPANISH INQUISITION PART like the OP is a complete dope and has no idea what content is in the book he teaches for his class.

Basically all I am asking is people take down the rhetoric a notch and actually give legit responses to a topic that is legitimately interesting.

Some things are best said with pictures.

It is a cop-out to say "lol its just a joke." That's functionally the same thing as calling someone a bigot in order to auto-win an argument. It invalidates all legitimate points.

Actually, this is a big problem among Christians where they haven't really read the bible that much. Or they teach a whitewashed version, or whatever. And when they do actually understand it in full they tend to become Atheists, or otherwise stray from their original stance from what they heard in sermon/whatever.

It's all a big internal struggle when it really comes down to it, I'm lucky to have a relatively stable system of beliefs (I'm not quite an atheist, actually). Most appear unsure of what to believe.

By the by, as a high school teacher, I actually don't think teaching anything with RPG Maker is a bad idea. It's something different and it's bound to catch some attention. Personally I'd only use it for a short fun activity than to teach VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS or COMPLEX SCIENCE. Just a three minute RPG Maker "video" illustrating something can be fun and memorable.

Apparently RE teachers are now teaching the kids that Adam and Eve were protected by the DINO'S from a magical spell/shield cast by God. Or.. something. I thought Christians were all anti Spellcraft.
