HANDWRITING THREAD!

But if we let cursive die out, then we have that much more time to spend educating kids about important things!
Fun fact: I work in a fifth grade classroom. We have as much extra time as much as the life of a teacher is luxurious.

Well, poor handwriting isn't very impressive. Good print should be worked on, but that's easy to integrate with an actual writing task. Cursive is just
<Administrative/State/Federal Folks> +1 USELESS THING TO LEARN (because why would we have educators plan out our education system?)

you know, i am actually finding it even harder to give a crap about this than everyone else.
i was homeschooled and went to alternative programmes. it really is better, do this with your kids if you have a problem with what public schools teach/how they operate/are run.
because heaven forbid you actually take a personal interest in your child's learning rather than soapboxing about what their school does or doesn't do! that would sure be ridiculous. {yay internet sarcasm}
okay seriously guys i'm done can we get this back on topic

you do have the most bangin' job ever.
but hey you can't talk you went to school in canada.
I hate when I'm in the middle of writing something, and I forget what the hell a capital G or something looks like in cursive.
Capital G is like my favorite cursive letter! But yeah, what rare times I have to write cursive in my life, I have the same problem. I think a lot of people just wing it until their cursive writing is indecipherable.
I'm a terrible writer sometimes (most of the time ^.^;). That said, when I was about 9 I had a great love of cursive 'f'. No idea why, I used to fill up lines of 'f' over and over again... the teachers weren't impressed. >.<
So here's a sample of my handwriting. First my cursive and then the other thing.

Once I learned cursive in second grade I never went back to those damn print letters. I mean damn those print letters. Unless it's caps of course those work alright.

"Förra veckan åt jag en banan som var gul. Faktum är förstås att de flesta bananer är gula. Det är liksom den mogna bananens ... .
Förrutom om de är omogna förstås. Då är de väl gröna."
More or less, but damn, I can't figure out that one word either way.
