Also, I would host RMN free of charge. However, I'm not certain that my hosting plan would be able to handle RMN (although it is unlimited bandwith/space, sometimes if there's a ton of server traffic for one website on the server, they require you to go dedicated, which would basically be the same boat we're in now).
If it IS possible for me to host RMN though, I'd gladly do so.

Thanks for the offer WCouillard. I can say without question that rpgmaker.net would not survive on a shared hosting account for resource (CPU/RAM) usage if nothing else. Hosts who offer "unlimited" space and bandwidth do so knowing that it is technically not possible -- it's kind of like a pyramid scheme. Still, I appreciate the offer and willingness to step up.
So far the status report is this: we have raised enough funds for the initial server purchase and are in the process of doing so. The monthly operating costs look to be about $150. We currently have $63 in committed recurring memberships every month so we have about a $90 gap. Our ad revenue will be able to cover some of that but it doesn't get released in regular amounts.
You guys are pretty awesome, for the record.

How do Paypal subscriptions work? Does it ask you to renew yearly or just go on forever until it's canceled?
I don't seriously think I'd forget this was going on, but I probably haven't touched my Paypal account in 7-8 years, and I could see myself forgetting about it that long again.

The monthly sponsorship options continue ad infinitum unless canceled by the sponsor. If you have your PayPal account tied to your bank and/or credit card account it can transfer the money from there as needed.

I'm already donating about 40$ to Plan Canada but I guess I could shed a few more bucks for RMN although it's not quite as much of a priority. I would also make one shot donations as opposed to subscribing to something.
I don't know how billing works for hosting the website but does the lockerspace comes into play? Does giving lockerspace to each member increase the cost of hosting the server?
Perhaps games should be hosted offsite on something like megaupload, and then linked back here to cut costs? (Or are they already? :v)
