WICH DO YOU LIKE BEST? 2K,2K3,XP,VX
Posts
Which do you like best and why?
You can have more tha one, like if you like one for one reason and another for another.
I like VX, cause A, it's new, and B, cause you can use scripts for customization(in XP too...) and C, for some odd reason it seems a lot easier than XP. I also like 2k3, cause it is very simple, and easy to use.
how about you guys?
EDIT:
Did I seriously just spell Which wrong? (facepalm)

2k3, the graphics don't look like Walt Disney cartoons, the visible pixelisation gives them an sensitive aspect, a little like painting, but i'm not a maker!
It's weird. You would have expected some sort of upward progression in terms of the quality of Enterbrain's game development software through the years but each RPG Maker has it's own strengths and weaknesses. It's like a step sideways every time.
I prefer using 2k or VX for my projects that I never seem to finish (things are going to change now. Honest!), but after finding a really nifty 2k3->XP graphics converter I'm considering working solely in XP from now on. That way I can utilise scripting capabilities while not skimping on the graphical side of things.

Of the choices, 2k3. But that's because I'm an old boi.
Right now, I'm a Sim RPGMaker 95 fan. I'm surprised Enterbrain hasn't released a new Sim yet. Hell, they could probably make money with some simple upgrades to the old maker.

author=Max McGeemax, its been at least a month since we've had a 2k3 vs vx argument! We were long overdue!
why do we need this topic every topic is this topic afsgdfgdfhgfg
(p.s. this topic has been discussed to death. in the end the only thing that people seem to agree on is that "use the maker that you want to use and who cares")
Rm 95
Topics like this should be closed immediatelly with that same conclusion.
kentonaI wish this had been the case instead of all the rage.

I think it's pretty different to ask which is your favorite and why than what is the "best" rpg maker.
author=Max McGeeI was under the impression that this topic was about "which Maker do YOU prefer" as opposed to "which Maker is objectively the best".

EDIT: Oops, yeah, what Cray said.

Hmm.. Yes, I should of said something different (facepalm) why are you people so hard to please! lol
I like all of them except XP. Aside from it being just not my thing, I get lag any time a screen scrolls. Is that just a problem I experience? Just as a test I started to make a new game a where I did not even make my first event yet, I actually lagged.
No scripts, no common events, not even any kind of mapping.

I didn't like XP either, so I quickly bought VX, the next month.
XP was a waste of money D:<

2k3's excellent event support and performance with XP's map editor and default resolution and remappable controls with VX's script architecture and library and music playback.
Then add a proper IDE to the script with stepthrough/over/into, breakpoints, and other debuggings tools and more supported music filetyles including sweet synth types like MOD and IT while supporting DSP plugins and include better Ruby support such as keywords ....
