THE FEATURED GAME THREAD

SL was probably the most chill of them, but even he had an attitude sometimes. Things have been a lot less dramatic since they left, if nothing else.

I still miss Tardis... Though there are indeed less shitposts now compared to the time those people were around.

I didn't know he was part of #shmup...I guess he did leave with the rest, though.

btw what is #shmup
#shmup is the IRC channel a certain group of users used to hang out in. They were all people who'd been in the RM community for quite a while, even since the days of Gaming World. They'd been there and done that and their attitudes reflected it in kind of a shitty way. They seemed to polarize between not giving a damn and caring too much, and they were always the first to raise a ruckus (or carry it too far). Last I know is they all moved to Meridian Dance when the shit hit the fan a while ago.
Hmmm…The Logomancer, eh? I guess Solitayre finally got his wish. :)
Yeah, I couldn’t think of anything new for this month besides the games that were all previously mentioned before. I suppose next month we’ll have a whole new crop of games to be recommended, thanks to the Indie Game Maker Contest wrapping up and all.

I hear The Sunken Spire is pretty good and Painted Heart has seen a lot of attention. Remnants of Isolation looks nice, too.
Or... we could give a classic some attention. Say Romancing Walker or Sunset over Imdahl?
Seriously though, SoI should have been feature long ago. It holds up as a game even against today's standards (still the best parallaxed game to date).

A game by the creators of Painted Heart was already featured last month, so that would be a bit overkill in my opinion. I'd be okay with Sunken Spire, and Remnants of Isolation is quite nice, too. Alternatively, I'd support It'll Look Great On Your Résumé as well.
I haven't played Sunset over Imdahl (yet), but as far as I heard, it sounds like a very solid game. Probably not a bad choice either.

author=Libertyauthor=halibabicaThey'd have to get past me first. Good luck with that~~~from Link_2112
Let's get a Sonic fan game back on the front page.from SnowOwlWhy settle for one or the other? I'm sure there's a cross-over we can pick somewhere.
What about a My Little Pony one, I bet there's some real quality stuff out there...

I would like to reinforce my vote for a Sonic fan game. Your gradually menacing emoticons don't scare me!
e: xD
Painted Heart was pretty, but overall limited and had a battle system that dragged it down. I heard that Sunken Spire was solid, but then again, with that developer team how couldn't it be? It'll Look Good On Your Resume is fantastic too. The Farming One was a brilliant IGMC entry. Happy Birthday, Rust and Blood and Suzy and freedom are good picks too.
Wait I thought the featured game spot for August was already promised to whomever won the IGMC, isn't that one of the prizes?
I'm really glad to hear people enjoyed Résumé! Thanks! \o/
Middens would be a cool game to put up there at some point.
EDIT: Auuugh I swear I looked! Well, I like OneShot's art too, but I haven't played it so maybe recommending it isn't fair.

How about Oneshot? It already has two perfect score reviews, has generated some pretty decent buzz – and it’s a completed 2k3 game out of all things! (And you know how I feel about Rm2k3 games lately...)
Otherwise, I have no problems with It’ll Look Good On Your Resume, Rust And Blood, Suzy And Freedom, Romancing Walker or Sunset Over Imdahl.
