WHAT THE HELL DID YOU/DO YOU WANNA BE?

Posts

I'm a husband, and I also want a wife that I'm incredibly in love with and passionate for. (oh how I kid)

I want to write novels less Hesse's early stuff. I'll try to soon.

A research psychologist. Possibly work at a university of some kind and if need be, teach on the side. Far and away goal.

A lot of my friends are pursuing this exact career path. At least three, I think, and maybe twice or three times that number if you expand it to acquaintances and friends of a friend. Bizarre!

As for married...I could be married if I wanted to. I mean, I certainly have been dating the only person in the world I could imagine marrying for 5 years, and judging by the fact that she's put up with me for five years and her life's greatest ambition is also getting married, I think she'd be down for it. It's just at 25 I don't feel anywhere close to being enough of a "grown up" for marriage and a family.

Meanwhile, www.team-captin.com was booming and I was drawing like a mad man, and started driving a truck

I have heard this so many times I really believe in it: if you have a creative ambition, especially one like writing which involves sitting at a desk, you want to have a day job you can do outside like driving a truck or breaking rocks. You will get exercise and sunshine and more importantly, won't burn yourself out on the physical activity of writing by spending x more hours every day on a computer at some terrible office job typing out TPS reports or whatever.

I'm going to have to second this to hell and back.

This summer, I picked up a carhopping job at one of the local Sonic's in town. Despite the really sweaty heat, I enjoy it. Having an outlet rather just sitting on my ass every day has really helped in my motivation to draw more: I mean, I managed to fill up an entire sketchbook so far this Summer, and I'm still going (it was only about a 22 page sketchbook and I ripped out 3 of them out, but still)--I've never drawn this much in a two/three month time-period. Some of them are just sketches and dicking around, but most of them are ready to be scanned and digitally colored...they are complete and clean lineart of characters I've created over the years.

So, yeah. Max, you speak the truth. I think the longest amount of time between drawings this Summer I've had has been about 5 or 6 days.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

People study psychology to solve their own screwed-up problems. Solving other people's screwed-up problems is just a necessary evil to make any money out of it.

I'm adding a 'what I wanna do'

There's this real cool cat from my nightschool. Gibson Quarterly. He's real good and obviously practiced comic art all his life. He's a 35 year old accountant who finally gave in to his dream. Now he goes to a ton of comic conventions to sell his stuff in Artist Alley. His short stories are printed in an UK comic magazine and he was recently commissioned to do a Judge Dredd comic, which after he drew it was lost in the wormworks. Nonetheless, he's GOOD.
He's my inspiration and goal. I want to be better than him!

King Luca is wearing a cape and carrying a scepter because he thinks he is a king. King of what, you might ask? ... Yes, you certainly might ask. You certainly might.
