Yes, Reason's guitars are awful, and I wish recording wasn't such a pain in the ass, otherwise I'd just directly record my own playing. With Reason's built-in guitars, I tend to use them with power chords or flat fives since they don't sound awful when they're giving a nice little chunky structure, but, yeah, forget about leads.

Hey, a double post:

This is the first metal thing I've written in Reason; I think it turned out pretty sweet.
Edit: I added a couple of bars of silence so the track would loop better.

Doublepost for the sake of METAL:

I swear I'm not going to put the entire soundtrack up here, but I thought this boss theme turned out really badass.
You never fail to impress me with your music. Are you in the progress of making a new game with some of it? :D

Thanks! And, yeah, I can't help myself--I always need a project. I'll throw a game page up when I have all of the systems working, but it's got a bunch of different aspects, and I tend to work on music and aesthetic stuff first, so it'll probably be a while.
I just do music for fun. I tried to aim for video game type in my older songs, but my most recent have just been exploring what I could do with different styles.
Also feel free to listen to my others, but be warned older things are horrible XD

Sharing another one of my compositions, this one is a love story.
Hi
New-guy here, but hopefully will be popping in a lot...
I'm working on some audio of a more SciFi/Horror type, and actively looking for a game to work on with someone.
Have a listen. They're all demo's, and one very early song. Mostly just atmospherics too.

@JosephSeraph Wow I'm so happy right now. If you manage to keep up on HD'ifying the old 2k3 like you're doing, people will soil their pants soon enough! Well done!
@Housekeeping You make music too? Cool!
@TheRexion I really like your style.
Man, you guys are too cool. You're such good musicians.
Here's my own little re-take on an old classic. Please enjoy.

I did this one a while back to see what I could do with a nice orchestral pack. It's more of a WIP, but I'll probably never get around to finishing it. On the other hand, here's one of the opening themes for my game:

The two "single" songs from the album I've been working on for the past...well, forever. It's a Progressive Metal/Rock album, so these two songs have all the hallmarks of your every day Progressive Metal song: they're long, technical, change time signatures more than a teenage chameleon in a fashion store, and have more solos than you can shake a stick at. There's also a stick-shaking solo.
Just so you know what you're getting into, they're both about 8 minutes in length, rather on the heavy side (Subzero moreso than A Change of Heart), and instrumental. Also, A Change of Heart has a minute and a half long saxophone solo. I'm just saying.

And for something completely different, a string quartet under five minutes in a constant time and key signature.

try to avoid building music out of segments. organically feel your way through it if you can
