try to avoid building music out of segments. organically feel your way through it if you can

I do record improvs (which tend to be a lot less repetitive) with the intention of "eventually" using at least parts of them to make real songs (basically fixing human error created by sub-par playing skills) but dealing with velocities and tempo stuff on a note-by-note basis (artificially reintroducing desirable forms of human error) is pretty painstaking at times. Plus I still end up falling into the same tired chords etc.

Here's an example of such a thing:

literally just recording noodling.

Composition tips for finding more interesting/less tired chord transitions would be very appreciated.
How about some Chrono Trigger goodness? I made a little mix of Too Far Away Times:

Working on some original stuff, though, but that's gonna take some time.

I think you choose a bad synth as a lead, it doesn't sounds too good and it eats almost all the mix, this is specially noticeable after 1:20 when the mix gets very messy.

Main menu theme for my upcoming game, "Palabras Eternas" which is translated to "Eternal Words", and the track name is "Efímero" or "Ephemeral" translated, what do you think?
Hey New to this forum. I like rpgs and have been composing music for a while now. Check this song out...I remixed a song I wrote a long time ago. It's in the style of the black mages. Lemme know what you think. https://soundcloud.com/scotttak/space-bound-metal

It sounds pretty, but also a bit dull by itself, though I can see how it could work for a menu theme. Also, the harp starts to sound more artificially played near the end when the notes are played quickly, which was jarring compared to the more realistic sounding first half.

I love the energy and catchyness it has (the second main melody is awesome). It'd benefit from some EQ'ing though, since the guitar overpowers a lot of the other instruments, but overall a solid track I totally see in a boss fight or such.

Here's a track I made for a jungle village in an RPG: https://soundcloud.com/shokomusic/village-of-leaves

Some RPG battle music I made sometime ago

At the moment I mainly compose for the MOG music event, but I have some other projects I'm working on. I'm also trying to learn to use eq and compression to improve the quality of my music, but I don't even know when I should use them...

Most recently I tried to make a pokemon inspired RPG town theme with pokemon Heartgold & Soulsiver soundfonts. I'm not very happy about the result; some of the soundfonts used made a crackling sound and I wonder if there would be a effect or something in LMMS to remove the crackling from the soundfonts. Also, I'm not sure if it sounds anything like piece from pokemon games :/

Just some stuff I've been playing with for a few days.
Feel free to send me a message and I'll send you over a loopable file (or you can just edit it)!
I'll be adding new stuff to it as I do it i.e. random stuff I make that don't make it anywhere else so feel to use any of it as you feel.

(As of now I only have a few 8 bit tracks, they'll be better quality tracks for soundtracks coming but I just got a bunch of free 8bit plugins so been playing around with them!)
