I'm not one bit in commercial games, so the topic on video games is quasi null for me, but it made me think : why not do the same thing but with rmn games ? It would be all the more interesting that there's a lot of discussion going on about : how to detect the most popular games (for rmn4). I could have left out "most disliked games", but I think it can also be relevant of what kind of rmn games people like (there's no obligation to cite them, of course).
So here I go : most loved
- Razor
- Tales of the World
- Money & Power
- Vacant Sky
- Forever'end
- Underworld : Land of the dead
(I haven't played the more recent finished ones. And I'm probably forgetting some.)

Alright, my list will probably be really short since I haven't played a lot of RM games, but here goes nothing.

Most Loved:
Boxley
Story Of Innocence
Phantasia 3 & 4 (Kind of guilty pleasures)
The Way (All of it)
Monopoly

Most Hated:
Forever's End
Glitch
The RMN Chain Game

Yeah. Most games I'm interested in haven't been or will likely never be released, and I generally don't even pay attention to games that don't spur a lot of my interest.
Dudesoft
always a dudesoft, never a soft dude.

Hated:
Tic Tac Toe
I expect nothing but ill to come of this thread.

My most loved RM games are:
* Sore Losers
* Visions & Voices
* Leo & Leah
* Edifice
* Garden

Quite a mixed bag when you think about it. But they all had one important thing.. Charm.

This thread has a serious lack of Hero's Realm.

More serious: I can't say that I "love" any of the games I've played, but I liked The Astonishing Captain Skull, Hayate no Gotoku - Dream Apocalypse, Sanctum Security - Colors of War, and Master of Souls. As for "hate", I disliked Poley and Waffle - War for the Wonder Blocks. Though I should have been more forgiving towards the designer, as it's obviously a first-game attempt. I guess it could be said that I hated on Fable of Heroes - Legendary Edition, even though I was defending Silviera's right to give it a four.
I don't think listing games that you "hate" is such a good idea. That's usually how flame wars are started. Besides, all it does is promote more negativity and discourages developers, which we don't need. For example:

Most Hated:
Forever's End

This isn't very encouraging, although I suppose I already knew this. I'm sure other developers would feel the same on hearing their own games listed under "most hated." I say we just stick with the games we like.

Anyway, games I like:

Demon Legacy
Starless Umbra
Sore Losers
Legacies of Dondoran
Hero's Realm
Balmung Cycle
Alter AILA Genesis
Dhux's Scar
Welps...

Most loved:
Dhux's Scar
Professor McLogic
The Longing Ribbon
Space Funeral
Clock of Atonement

Not the best ones, just the ones closer to my heart.

I have a few I could list under "most hated", but they are from active people on RMN, so I'd rather not.

I'm also a bit intrigued that the first game mentioned in this topic was Razor.
And that the second first-named game was Boxley, which I didn't like very much.
How could I have forgot about Space Funeral. :O

I also enjoyed Beautiful Escape a lot, as polarizing as it is.

I had finally intended to leave out "most hated", did a wrong moveand before I had erased it it came out, as well as it's double, simply "most loved...", asked that the first be deleted, but before it was, it had already begun...... (so I asked for the other one to be deleted). I personaly don't think it's uninteresting as it also defines a taste and obviously people express themselves quite clearly on the subject. I also do not think it has to be taken that personaly, people have different tastes...

Forgot , best liked :
- ABL
- NigSek : A Monster's Tail.

Typically my most loved games become "staple", or games that actually stay on my computer after I play them. These games are currently:

Lists hidden for length
Everlong
Hero's Realm
Enter The Cave
Chrono Alter
Clouded Heart
Legion Saga II
Reality Breakdown
The Most Stupidest Game Ever Redux

There are other games that are somewhat "staple", but for other reasons (such as games that I find myself going back to to look at the maps because for some reason or another they won a special place in my heart). These games are:
Legends of Illarion
Legacies of Dondoran
Demon Legacy

The latter two are sort of on-and-off as they aren't on my computer at the moment but have been downloaded over and over for this reason. Demon Legacy used to be part of my upper-tier staple games, but it slipped a little bit over time.

Other favorite games consist of:
Super Mario RPG: The Seven Sages
Legendary Legend

I can't honestly say which games are my "most hated", as this is quite possibly the biggest kick in the teeth I've seen to anyone's blood, sweat, tears and years of work put into their projects, but some of my lesser liked ones would have to be:
The Way
Chrono Trigger (joke game)
Fire God Saga
Eden Legacy
A Home Far Away
Shadows of Evil: Wings of Time Deluxe
The Tiamat Sacrament
Final Fantasy Dreams

These "most hated" games are typically the ones that didn't grip me but did so to an extent that I wouldn't consider picking them back up any time in the future, though there are at least a couple that I genuinely just plain hated.
Hmm I have to wonder if Most Hated has anything to do with actually disliking the game or simply based on "i hate things that are popular/made by this jerk!!" factors lol. In any case here are my favs.

Kinetic Cipher
The Way
Cyber Factor
A Blurred Line
Diary of a Madman
Three The Hard Way
Rise to the Third Power
Razor (ITS A GUILTY PLEASURE OKAY please dont throw stones at me, throw them at chana)
10,000 Bulletz
Angels of Exodus
Dawn of Darkness Legends: Nightwish
Space Funeral
Yume Nikki

I am probably forgetting some but it's nice to have this type of thread once in awhile.
Yellow Magic
Could I BE any more Chandler Bing from Friends (TM)?

The Way's probably the most loved AND most hated series of RM games.

I haven't played enough of most RM games to really determine whether to like or hate them, but ABL will always have a special place in my heart, as will Space Funeral.

@Deckiller : "certainly", but you forgot to post which were your most liked and, if you wish to say so, most disliked rmn games...
Games I like:

The Way
Starless Umbra
A blurred Line
Hero's Realm
Lost Legacy : An Animania Story
Threshold

How can anyone hate the Way, its absolutely brilliant! Its better than 'A Blurred Line'! Well, maybe. But how can anyone hate it! Lun Calsari is the best!
how to detect the most popular games (for rmn4).
