Hello I am mostly new to this site, and am an avid game player, though I have been thinking about making my own game. I am not to sure how I should start but I am open to suggestions... on a side note I do have ideas for games if anyone would like to hear them, message me please.

Welcome to RMN! Contribute lots! We have plenty of great makers on this site, and you'll find that we're more than willing to help newcomers like yourself. I recommend RPG Maker VX.

I like 2k3, but VX can import 2k3 maps :D

These all look like good options... but... well, I am on kind of a limited budget( meaning that it all goes to bills and food...) So I cant just spend $60 at the drop of a hat... Is there any good "free" rpg makers?

I am not looking for anything illegal, and if I look for something I might end up with something illegal, so basically I am most generally screwed.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The easy RPG Makers by Enterbrain all cost money to buy legally. If you want something that's legally free, there are other options. The most obvious is to make something from scratch in Flash, but our list of engines also lists several free makers. Sphere is pretty popular, but I can't say I actually know the pros and cons of any of them.

Welcome to RMN. I reccomend SIM RM 95. Actually, i dont reccomend that horrible progrmam.

You could always try the Lite version of Game Maker.

No worries I have gotten my problem taken care of... (thank god for a nice boyfriend.) ... Anyway I now have VX so ... Thank you all for welcoming me.... I shall now see how long it takes for me to figure out how to work my new engine.
