ANSWERING THE "ARE YOU A BOT" QUESTION WAS MORE PHILOSOPHICALLY CHALLENGING THAN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

I mean, how can I be sure I'm not a bot?
What if I'm a bot programmed to think I am not?
And what is a "bot", anyway? Couldn't every human be considered a "bot" under some definitions of what "bots" are?
And couldn't a sufficiently advanced "bot" be considered a "non-bot"?
Whether I'm a bot or not, I've liked RPGMaker from about when I was 12 (half my current lifespan, now that I think about it).
I've started at least 10 "no-THIS-one-will-be-my-masterpiece-which-I-will-complete" projects, none of which survived past the first dungeon.
But then, a couple of months ago, I started another game, and THIS one will be my masterpiece which I will complete!
The problem is, I'm Italian and the game will be too, so I don't think it would be very useful to upload it here. But if I actually end up doing something I like, I may try making an English version or something.
I hope I'll still be able to contribute, at least with comments, reviews, things like these. I like what I saw of this community.
For now, hi everybody. Or something, I never know what to say in these introcutive topics, which I try to hide with long useless messages about anything else.

Meh, there are a few french, german and portuguese games floating around, so I wouldn't worry too much about it being in italian. Some people really get hung up on it though, for whatever reason.
I am looking forward to reading your deconstruction of the bot/human paradigm! it should make for an interesting thesis. Welcome to RMN!

Be very welcome ♥
(look who's greeting, that one low-IQ-guy-who-never-ever-shows-up)
And even if you decide not to post your game yet (or not at all) It can't hurt to post a screenshot in the screenshot topic, game art on the Random Art topic (or even make a topic for yourself, if you think it's a good deal), posting originally composed soundtrack if there is any (not that not being any makes your project and worse of better), I don't know, post things about it. ♥
You seem like an interesting person. I'm anxious to see what's your line of thought on games. xD

I have had trouble with answering this once as well. Once I wrote: But thou must, and it did not work. Oh well. Next time I said hail the emperor, and it did not take. Still, it does work, so that is fine.
Hello!
I'm new here too, but talking abou your problem. I'm brazilian, and all my games are in portuguese, but they are here too, with no problem. I have plans to translate one or another, the best ones, it's a good idea to show your work to other people than the ones that already know it (like the members of brazilian forums, in my case... =P )
Well, that's it,
Bye. =D

You know, now I feel kinda bad saying that my game is a very lighthearted adventure, borderline affectionate parody of both traditional RPGs and shonen manga genre...
Interesting, and don't worry, we all have our different styles. Welcome to rmn and enjoy your stay. That bot question even made me stop for a minute to think what I could put in there, but I eventually decided to just put no, as I wasn't sure it would respond to anything.

I didn't even notice you are Italian. Your English is really good.
Thank you. °° Since I don't "officially" study English, becoming better at it is one of the reason I hang around English boards, actually. XD
*waves arms around as if greeting him*Welcome to the RMN...I love doing that!
author=Cozzer, I have that feeling every time I make a new game, because, I have something I call "Game Development A.D.D.", where I will lose interest in a game I'm making, start thinking up ideas for new games, and then I'll have so many games being made, I couldn't work on the first one, seems like it's doing it all over again with my newest game:JailBreakOut, where I'm starting to lose interest, and now I've got plans for a Sci-Fi game called "Infinity" and another on the family computer on VX(the other 2 are on 2003), that I haven't named yet...anyways, too much explaining,

In Team Fortress 2 I ask if someone is a bot and sometimes the bots reply no. Only in multiplayer though.
I've always wanted to put "yes" just to see what happens.. But I like myself too much to degrade myself in that kind of manner. Welcome!

...What "does" happen, anyways? Does the "world" explode in a million pieces, or something? I would try it, too, but...I'm a wuss when it comes to things like that.

Why is it forums create such magnificant ideas, ripe for the taking?
Welcome, Cozzer! Enjoy the site!
