Version 0.2.16 Available for Download

Hey Guys. I'm happy to announce the newest download of Godbranch. Version 0.2.16 improves the in many aspects, most notably in the overhaul of the World Map. In addition, 2 new territories were added, a dozen quests, new items, weapons, armor, enemies, and kettle recipes. Also of note were some changes made to convert Rpgmakers Top-down graphics to those more fitting of a platformer. A third faction was added as well.

Have at it! And be sure to post your feedback.

Godorbs

It was always going to happen! Since the conception of the game, I've had this idea that there should be one ORB for each of the Glorian gods and goddesses. These orbs contain divinely-blessed energies that benefit the player in many different ways. One in particular is this one:

The above orb is the Orb of Clairice. Clairice is the Glorian goddess of abundance and weather.

Now, let's talk about shaking trees and such!

In Godbranch, the player can find hidden loot all over the place if they are inquisitive and investigative enough to locate it. For instance, the player can shake trees. In some instances, things will fall from the said trees. Other times, players can look into bushes for hidden items. Several more ways exist in which to find these treasures as well.

Why did I bring this up? And what does this information have to do with godorbs? I'm glad you asked.

When hidden loot is found, it can most often be found only once. Thus, once the player has uncovered the item hidden in its secret spot, he/she needn't look there again. However, the OrbOfClairice is a great artifact indeeed, possessing the power to restore all hidden loots on a given map!

In conclusion...godorbs are good. Though finding them may be tough, when you do come across one, just know that it has tremendous power. So if you find one of these:

...be sure to thank the Glorian divines! And should you find one of these:

...thank Clairice; find a good map; and discover things all over again!

Release of Godbranch on RMN!

Godbranch is a game that I was working on for quite a number of years on the back-burner. It was being developed, but at a super-slow rate. When the fam and I started J3I Games a few years back, we had the idea of bringing some of the older, less-developed games to the front. Thus, Godbranch rose to the surface with a number of older games. Then, for some reason, production just took off a few months ago. Seeing how nicely things were coming together, we decided to invest more time and energy into it. The result is that it finally gets to be released in demo form to the public--which to us is a great day!

We believe Godbranch is a unique game. It was heavily influenced by NES's The Adventure of Link in the early going. I always loved the way the towns and castles were designed in that game! However, as the Godbranch grew, I wanted to match the graphical feel and pace of Link, with an interesting depth (though not as brutally complex as NetherQuest), so that the story could be progressing the entire time and the player wouldn't be bogged down trying to understand the basic mechanics and concepts of the game from the get-go.

You'll find a few hours game time in the released demo. Possibly up to four if you do everything you can. If you find bugs, glitches, and other agonizing aspects of the game, let me know so that it can be fixed in future updates. Also, we'd like to see parts of your adventure. So take some screenshots along the way.

At any rate, I want to thank all of you who have supported me, and now J3I, in our video game endeavors over the years. We promise to keep making them because we are passionate about it--and we honor those of you who are equally passionate about playing.

Now go club some chickens and start your Godbranch adventure!!!
