New Demo Coming Soon!

This project has undergone some pretty big changes that, I hope, make the game a whole lot better.

The demo will be a full beta from start to finish with just shorter levels and less items. During the testing and feedback process I will be fleshing out more content and interactions.

Stellar Punk is set in a dystopian future full of death and decay. On top of managing health and resources, the player will need to manage their character's anxiety. If a character's anxiety gets too high, they will succumb to depression and shut down. The character may refuse to go into combat zones, to work or craft, or to even leave their room. Anxiety grows slowly over time and various interactions with the game world can spike anxiety, reduce anxiety, or alter the rate of anxiety growth.

There are different ways to beat the game. There are currently four victories; a Fame win, an Infamy win, an Economic win, and a Storyline win. The player can achieve any win in different ways. It is possible to beat the game without ever firing a shot.

The game mods have also been changed. They will now deal with difficulty settings rather than playstyle settings.

Beginner - No permadeath, can save
Normal - There is permadeath but you can save
Expert - Permadeath, no saving

Just remember, Stellar Punk is a dark game in a dark world. Death can come suddenly and from unexpected places. The player can get sick and die or be lured into a dark room and never seen again.

I'm hoping to have the download and browser versions ready by the end of the month. This game will not be playable on mobile devices due to key and click inputs for skills like shooting, dashing, or hacking terminals.

I will post the new screenshots when I get home.

Announcement

Stellar Punk Revamp

I have taken down the Stellar Punk Beta download for a much needed revamp.

I really like the setting and a lot of the mechanics. Intending to gut the project and cannibalize what's there for something better.

Thanks goes out to anyone who suffered through the clunky beta. o7

Stellar Punk - Update 002 - 03/16/19

This is more of a request than an update but it is important to me.
I am not an artist or musician. I am a storyteller. I recently purchased indie music and art for RPGMV on Steam and loved what I got but there are not a lot of options on Steam yet. I have the fear that a player may overlook my story based solely on the use of stock graphics and music. Because of this, while developing Stellar Punk, I went in search of indie artists. I would love to find more artists and musicians out there that are willing to sell me an affordable license/permission. I personally think it would be really cool if I could complete my projects with help from the work of fellow RMNers. If you can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. just shoot me a message or comment on any of my project pages. Thank you. o/

Stellar Punk - Update 001 - 03/16/19

The current download for Stellar Punk is the Open Beta I intend to let sit for awhile. I am hoping someone will play it enough to throw me some feedback. To be honest, this project started as a way for me to test some ideas for my Durance of Magic project and grew into something more. As of right now I am dedicating my time to completing Part 1 of 3 for Durance of Magic but if there's even 1 person out there that loves Stellar Punk and has some feedback, I will most certainly continue it's development. As of right now, it is on hiatus for completion even though there is a fully functional beta currently available.

If you decide to give it a try, I hope you will let me know what you think. As of right now, I feel like I can not complete it because I am stuck in an echo chamber of my own ideas. I am hoping for feedback over the next year. Thank you to everyone who has downloaded it so far and to the few people that have subscribed.

Also, last but not least, since I have not been able to get in touch with the 2 plugin programmers that asked for permission on commercial use of their work, I have (for now) changed Stellar Punk from commercial to free. The gameplay is more important than the 99 cents.
