Really not liking the default rpg maker shadows but everything else here looks great.

Me too, actually.
But isn't that just an RPG Maker thing? can I even remove that?
I am using RPG Maker VX Ace, btw.

When using the shadow drawing tool, if you click on already existing shadows it removes them instead. You can also get a script that removes all of them quickly. (From: here)
