v1.5 has been released!

With RMN back up and running, I am going back and updating all my older games with the current versions found on my itch. The v1.5 update for Chronicles the Lost Page has been added for RMN as part of this wide-sweeping set of updates. Here is the changelog for v1.5:

Changes
-Added a new art for Izzy, "Paws of Fury"
-Changed the description of "divine arts" to "talent" to match with Noel and the Tower of Doom and Chronicles Meteorfall.
-Lowered the HP of the rusted jailer significantly so that he could be defeated at lower levels.

Bugfixes
-Fixed bug where the Rusted Jailer in Celice Ruins 3BF would not explode, blocking progress and softlocking the game, making it impossible to complete.
-Shaved down the file size by removing unused assets.
-Added credits to the metadata of the OST.

The 1.4.1 Update Has Arrived!

Hello everyone! I am pleased to announce that Chronicles: The Lost Page v1.4.1 has finally released! This update took a surprisingly amount of work, as everything top to bottom had to be completely rebalanced in order to account for all the changes I wanted made to drastically improve this game. Enemies have been rebalanced to be far more challenging and MP is no longer an issue you'll have to think too much about. Character now have new and more varied skillsets with new effects. Hopefully this will be the final update for Chronicles the Lost Page, but there are still some small things that need fixing like the bellowing blade animation being slightly bugged and potentially a few text issues with there not being spaces in certain parts due to text wrapping, which I have found in my development on Noel and the Tower of Doom to be incredibly useful in not causing dialogue to overflow. Here are all the changes if you were wondering:

New Features
-Added new skills for actors including:

-Added in the true ending/credits.
-Added new songs to the OST.

Changes
-Removed the ice, wind, dark, poison, and drain elements.
-Changed all ice-elemental skills to be water elemental.
-Added a new element, force, which replaces wind and earth.
-Changed all existing wind and earth skills to become force skills.
-Changed all poison skills to be force elemental.
-Changed all drain skills to be almighty.
-Removed skill from Treck including: Ice Rune, Ice Pursuit, Wind Rune, Wind Pursuit, Earth Rune, and Gaea Pursuit.
-Changed the animation and effect of Treck's "Bellowing Blade" divine art.
-Changed the description of divine arts to simply say "" rather than "" at the beginning.
-Dramatically lowered all AP costs.
-Changed the "guard" command to restore a small amount of HP and AP.
-Greatly altered the OST, replacing songs that violated indie artist's TOS with a new OST featuring rips.
-Changed the names of the pacman ghosts back to their original custom names, minus "poopybutt/Clyde" who's been renamed to "Mr Stupid."
-All enemies have been dramatically rebalanced stats-wise.
-Bosses now hit slightly harder and have significantly more HP. (game was too easy post-1.2 because of the added party members)
-INT has been renamed to MAG.
-WIS has been renamed to RES.
-DEF and RES have been rebalanced to cause a "damage reduction/armor effect" which reduces damage on a scale with diminishing returns for higher numbers instead of reducing damage by a base number every time. It also simplifies damage formulas.
-Greatly rebalanced damage formulas on multiple skills to make them more in line with later games.
-Rebalanced item prices.
-Rebalanced Bx gain.
-The power of skills have been drastically rebalanced.
-Rebalanced EXP to make it more in line with v1.0-v1.1.
-Some dialogue has been changed and improved.

Bugfixes
-The paralysis bug has been fixed. Low paralysis simply lowers SPD to 0 instead of making your attacks have a chance to fail.
-Spelling and grammar errors have been fixed.
-The fairy has been removed from Camp #9, who was a debug asset accientally left in the game.
-Fixed the runes activating the right pursuit skills now.
-Fixed error in the title of the game. Previously it said "Chronicles the Losr Page" instead of "Chronicles The Lost Page"

Now it's back to working on Noel and the Tower of Doom. Hopefully I can get the game done before Christmas, and then I can spend all of 2024 focusing solely on Chronicles Meteorfall. COVID and the failure of Meteo Chronicles really screwed over my schedule, but by the end of 2024 I hope to get things back on track with the release of Noel and the Tower of Doom in 2023 and Chronicles Meteorfall in 2024. Get hyped!

The 1.4 Update is Almost Here!

So, due to the new rules on AI I have to take a break from developing Noel and the Tower of Doom to make a bunch of art assets in order to patch over the AI stuff. That's also why I delisted the demo for that game, which also used AI. Due to this Noel and the Tower of Doom is now delayed to December 2023, and hopefully I can get it out before the end of this year. Anyways, now is the time to finish what I've been wanting to do for almost this entire year: update Chronicles: The Lost Page! While easily my first actually decent work on this site, it is still very flawed and in need of some find tuning. A few months ago I was able to recover the lost files for this game and looking back there is quite a lot of messy junk that needs cleaning up! This update will be the biggest one yet since 1.2, the one that expanded the desert, added Izzy and Vivian, and added a new optional dungeon. I'm not sure if it will be bigger or not, but we'll see. Here is a list of various changes that are going to be in the new update:
-A new "true ending" cutscene + credits for 100%ing the game.
-A new sprite for Karakal.
-New music to replace some of the tracks, mainly boss music.
-Massive sweeping balance changes for every enemy and boss.
-A full element rework, removing the ice, wind, earth, poison, and drain elements , replacing wind and earth with a single "force" element which also includes poison attacks, and drain attacks becoming almighty.
-Some new skills for allies.
-Dramatically reduced AP costs for every skill.
-Numerous spelling and grammar fixes.
-And more!

Currently the update is about 90% complete. I have done everything except implement the true ending cutscene/credits. After that it's just a playtest away from releasing. I hope you all enjoy the new update!

I Made a New Design for Karakal + Update Plans

Hello everyone! In art class today we had to draw something about the word "paradox." So I drew a new version of Karakal, the final boss of this game. Take a look:


I also have plans for a new version of Chronicles: The Lost Page, v1.4. It will release shortly after the full release of Noel and the Tower of Doom and will include these new changes and features:

Changes
-Defend will restore a bit of AP alongside HP.
-Tutorials will be minimized and simplified to appeal to people experienced with RPGs.
-Karakal will have a new design and attack pattern.
-Enemies will be rebalanced.
-Treck and Vivan's movesets will be simplified, expanded, and altered. (less elements and less identical moves)
-Paralysis changes your SPD to 1 rather than randomly stopping you from using attacks.

Bugfixes
-The paralysis status effect no longer crashes the game when triggered.
-The light and dark runes now work properly. (ice rune is now water rune, the OG water rune has been removed, and the wind and earth runes have been changed to a force rune)
-Various misspellings have been fixed.
-Mundas' dialogue has been changed to be more readable.

PSA: Avoid Shadow Wargs

Hello everyone. It has come to my attention thanks to the user OzzyTheOne that the paralysis status in this game is completely bugged. Luckily, the chance of paralysis is very low from all sources, the highest chance being from Shadow Wargs in the first map. For the time being, please avoid the Shadow Warg enemy in order to not cause your character to be inflicted with paralysis and crash the game. The only other way to inflict paralysis in the game is by using the bonus character Vivian and using her thunder spell. Just avoid Shadow Wargs and don't use Vivian's thunder spell and you should be good.

Version 1.1 is out NOW!

It's finally here everyone, v1.1 of Lost Colossus, now known as Lost Chronicles, is now out! This version adds many highly requested features for this game, such as multiple party members and better QoL. Here's a rundown of all the changes you can expect with the new version.

-Fury Slash no longer plays multiple animations.
-The QTE now displays properly.
-Fixed the password so that it no longer warps you when you get it wrong.
=Fixed the password door so it no longer disappears after entering it for the first time.
=Reraise now works properly and now actually revives you upon death.
-The necro weapons now properly inflict instant death.

I hope you enjoy the new update. Especially you Liberty! There will likely be new updates in the future, but nothing even close to this scale. Just bugfixes and balance changes from here on out, plus a special effect I really want to add to one of the endings that I think you all will find very cool.
