Hello
welcome to a... uhm analysis of FIG. I do not want to call it a review since there is no rating here, as you can see, and I did this for two reasons: first because the game is quite short, second because the developer Daiconv wrote that it's still working on it, so there is not reason to give a definitive rating for now. Maybe later.
Anyway is this playable? Yes it is. Has it an ending? Oh sure! It's a bit abrupt like the beginning anyway.
From the introduction:Carol, a private investigator went missing and her best friend Shelby went looking for her... Shelby wakes up to find herself in a mysterious room, with four beds and a fig tree. She can't remember how she got there, or how long she's been there. There is also a strange girl with green hair and an old man, and they both seem obsessed with tending to the fig tree.
I write this here just to let you know what happens in this game since all begins without any explanation with Shelby in this room with a girl and an old man, and while these two are too afraid to leave, Carol already left the room! so I guess we'll have to find her. And the exit, of course, it doesn't matter that it's risky and apparently the figs of this tree seems to stop aging... freedom is more important, isn't it?
SO it was YOU!!! Thanks a lot for nothing!
FIG is a short game in which we need to find Carol, three keys and the exit of course! It can be define as a little horror adventure with chase sections and exploration. Game is rather simple, so I'm not going to explain much EXCEPT one thing: I was able to escape in the online version, where the ending is indeed abrupt, but still it makes possible to finish the story. The downlodable version instead had a final building where Shelby barricade herself. The problem is that the stairs do not work, and no interactions were possible inside that place, making impossible to progress. Sad!
The game has no real menu, inventory or interface, you just have a keys counter, no life bar since one hit can kill you, but at least you can save your game at the table in the fig room.
Anyway what about the rest? Graphics are really well made and the setting is both surreal and dark. Hostiles are ugly men (in the beginning) and both dialogues, music and sounds enforce a sense of uneasiness and creepiness. Well done even if there is no great variety of environments and characters but for a short horror game it's enough, pity that only the very first room had some meaningful interactions that give some details about the story, that is never explained fully, but so far this is rather intriguing and I hope that a new version will shed some light on the events of the game!
Do not underestimate the normal-looking guys, they can kill you like the ugly ones!
Final Verdict
I will consider this a demo, and I'll be waiting for a more refined/complete version but so far this is promising, quite interesting and well done especially from the original premise. It's a simple escape game but the setting and plot stand out and the cute and creepy graphics that even if simple, they look quite good (nice use of colors and lights/darkness too). What else? I want moar!

Cool. To tell the truth I already finished the online version. So I played it twice, but did you change the ending fixing the final building of just used the same ending of the online version? I am curious

All versions have been updated with the new ending so the stuff inside the house actually works now.
