FINALLY Version 0.8.0 is out (Facepalm)

​Okay, so, this has been done for a while now, but I couldn't motivate myself to update it. Well, that changes now.

Welcome to update 0.8.0. I can't remember all I've added, so I'll just tell you what you can do.

You are able to completely go through the main story of the game from start to finish. This includes getting all items and being able to explore all story based maps.

Plus, you can go to the town of Sample and explore it and the castle, however, you only have one thing you can do and that's being able to talk to the Sampler Butler to return. You can't go into any of the buildings either, so it's more of an explorable map then anything else at present.

Well, that's all for now. I'm going to try and be more constant with development going for forward and hopefully we can get this one wrapped up and started on the next game in the project.

Progress Report

Version 0.7.3 the MAIN Game is COMPLETE (mostly)

We are now in the final stretch. The main storyline is complete and you can play the game from start to finish. This includes the final dungeon complete with monsters, storyline, and items. Including a Mythical Sword and Super Dragon 'secret' boss.

What needs to be added is the Sample Town map, the pictures for the intro background, and a few fixes which will come here and there.

So EXCITING!!!!

Progress Report

Now On To Version 0.6.0

I know I just put up an update, but I'm trying to make up for lost time. So, without further ado, here are the changes:

1) The Undead Soldier and Poison Zombie monsters will now revive once in battle when you kill them.

2) Poison Zombie's attack will now drain your life and possibly poison you (be careful). Phantom's attack will, also, Drain your life.

3) Was able to fix the stepping sound when opening doors (But, accidentally, missed the Mimic Beat fight.)

4) Poison status effect now persists after battle instead of disappearing when battle ends.

5) Earth Spear and Toxic Waste skills now have animations.

6) All the NPCs have been added to Duske and some will change what they say based on where you are in the game.

7) Monsters now have there strengths and weaknesses and Magic is affected by the Magic Attack/Magic Defense values.

and

8) Fixed the message that displays when you inflict the Stop status to an enemy.

Progress Report

Version 0.5.1 is UP!!!!!

It's been a while, but here is the new update for the game. Not gonna waste your guys time on excuses and boring things like that. Here are the new stats of the game:

1. The Moonlight Tower dungeon is complete. You can play it all the way through. (Hint: Right after opening the door with the key, walk a couple steps in {triggers something} then go back to the Duske Inn.)

2. The Dungeon and Aubec's house now have interiors. In Aubec's house you can talk to his family and the Dungeon can be entered with the right key. (Hint: Talk to Fortuna right after defeating Tower.)

3. A new skill for Ethelion has been added as well as the Stop Status Effect.

4. The Bar interior has been added on the Airpad. This just leaves the interior to the Private House for all interiors in the location.

Here are somethings I know need to be added:

1. The stepping sound glitch when you open a door.
2. Need to add monster weaknesses
3. Earth Spear spell used by Baal has no graphic.
4. Poison leaves after battle and shouldn't
5. Intro needs background pictures.
6. Magic needs to be affected by Mag/MagDef stats.
(From the editor it looked like they ere just number amounts of damage
that were predetermined.)

Progress Report

Delayed Because of Sickness!

​Sorry for no update on the game this last week. I've been really sick and it has hindered progress. I have finished the first floor of the tower level, however, so that's something. I will try and have the other two floors done with the storyline that goes with them for the next update, but I can't promise anything, just yet.

On a positive note, I have made a Patreon if you guys want to support the production of the game. I will be adding tiers as I become comfortable adding them. I won't ever paywall you, though. Progress Report

Ver 0.3.5 is Now Up!

This week has been super productive! We have jumped from 0.1.0 to 0.3.5 ands boy do we have A LOT of updates:

Starting with the interiors to the buildings, I have added:

-Airpad Weapon Shop, Airpad Herb shop, Duske Weapon Shop, Duske Item Shop, Duske Inn, The Mayor's House, and the Sanctuary

We have two new places to enter:

The Forest Thicket and Witch's Hut. Each one has their interiors and exteriors fully complete and explorable.

You can talk to the Witch, Fortuna if you get lost.

As well as a new skill that Ethelion can learn:

Trap Detect which allows you to deactivate traps. I have also added traps to the game.

I have added that you get an Herbs when Gash joins, as well.
And, Finally,
Even though I have not began working on the next level, I have made the monsters for the level and even placed them on the canvas maps.

Version 0.1.0 Is Up!!!!

Welcome to the first version of Dear Bear Heart. Here are the things you can expect from the first release:

1) Since this game is a remake, I tried to make it as faithful to the original as I could, however, I also wanted to stay true to the simplicity of the fact it was a DEMO game and wanted to make it with no extra add-ons for the recreation, So, instead of HP for special skills (like the original game had) I used the TP gauge.

2) Faithfully to the original game, you don't gain experience points either, so you only can buy weapons and armor to make you stronger.

3) The first dungeon, the Cave of Sorrows, has been completed. Though, minor touches may be added in the future.

4) The Airship Pad you arrive in and the first town, Duske, exteriors have been made. All people have been added to the Airship Pad, but only story-based have been added in Duske, so far.

5) The shop owners are presently standing outside their shops cause the inside is being "renovated."

And, Finally,

6) All the main storyline through the Cave of Sorrows has been added.
