This morning, Avira complained that the Game.exe file was some sort of backdoor. Though it may just be a false positive, I'm a still a bit suspicious, as none of the other Game.exe files from any of the 20+ other Rpg Maker XP games I have are triggering anything. When I downloaded the game again a few minutes ago (in case it was something on my computer infecting it) it did the same thing.
Anyway, I'll find out what's going on and report back.

Avira gave me the same warning.
When I submitted the Game.exe to them just now, it turned out the file had already been previously submitted and analyzed.
And their previous finding was this:
"The file 'Game.exe' has been determined to be 'DAMAGED FILE (MALWARE)'. In particular this means that this file is damaged and not working properly. Nevertheless we were able to determine that it contains malicious code fragments."
Since I sent them a new submission, I think they're going to reanalyze it, but I'm not sure of that.
In the meantime, any standard Game.exe file from any RMXP game should work with Avantasia--like the one I uploaded to my locker that you can download:

Btw, you can submit suspicious files to Avira through this page:

I think it might be related to the fact that I changed the icon of the Game.exe file for the Avantasia cross icon.
If you feel unsure about this you can always use any other game.exe file as SegNin suggested.

Uploaded a new patch. If you have all three switches activated in the stairway and still the door doesn't open you will need this.

bahamut i really like the game play and i guess the version i been playing is pretty good to go after all the work u and the testers been doing so i havent been having any issues aside from some of the enemies being insanely tough on my butt....im not quite finished yet im at the tower now and cant seem to get by the enemies there they just keep on kicking my @ss so i could use some advice on that and also ive opened up a million fat packs and equip packs etc and i just cant seem to get the stake for the vampire or the fresh meat for the wolf so i dont know if this is an issue or not but its getting old fighting these same enemies trying to get 1 stake or meat and i mean literally hours on this and still nothing....any help for this?and a tip on these tower guys would be awesome thx bahamut good game bro

Hi nutso,
You're in a good level to beat up the Tower and finish the game. As far as the "fresh meat" goes, it is just the item called "meat" (not "chewed meat") which you have a little over 5% chance of getting for each fat pack you open. So I'm guessing you should have a couple by now. For the wolfsbane, you have around 6% chance per Natural Pack.
I can also tell you that each "aspect" of the Tower has a different element associated with it, which means each one has a particular immunity to an element but takes more damage from the opposing elements. Look at the color of the monster. Also, if you're not already doing it, combine spells to make more powerful spells of the element the Tower is weak against. Finally, you can use the resist spells (Anna, Elderane) because each Tower will use spells of their own elements most of the time.

Update!
Fixed a glitch with a dialog box not appearing and some typos. Also improved the ending!
You can download the patch if you already have the game. I'm also working on a walkthrough at the moment.
