Hollowood is a tiny village in the Kingdom of Beltona, named for the Hollowoods that it sits at the edge of, inhabited by the people who run the Hollowood Hunting Lodge. Established by the Concordat, a union of kingdoms across the world, these lodges are retreats for nobles and kings vacationing in their lands or in other lands. Each kingdom runs its lodges in its own way.

Beltona allows its citizens to own and operate the lodges but knew they would have to manage the forests. The forests would have to be safe for hunters and explorers to adventure in, and they would likewise have to be kept safe from those same people. Thus, at the founding of the Hunting Lodges, Beltona turned to its peacekeepers; the Marshal Corps. Creating a division of marshals whose duty was to protect the forests from overuse and overhunting, and to keep hunters and explorers safe from the dangers of the forest. The foresters.

Make no mistake, though. Their duties may be as wardens of the forest, they have all of the training and authority of Marshals of Beltona and a criminal's depredations need not be against the forest to earn a forester's attention and authority, a mistake that many make in the foresters' territories.

Our tale begins with Robin Sparrow, a forester who takes care of the forest of the Hollowoods and her family. Visiting noblemen from the Kingdom of Hyborea have heard of a creature in the Hollowoods called the Basilisk, a magical beast that turns its victims to stone with its gaze. Hyborea has rather masculine views of society and the noblemen are reluctant to abide by the law requiring that this woman accompany the hunt for the so-called Basilisk.

Guiding them on their journey through the Hollowoods, Robin is unaware that something sinister has stirred.

I think I'm going to edit the main character sprite to remove the hood. Not sure yet. I might. I often use this sprite as a main character in my games. Just thinking of changing it up.

I'm not sure if it's worth the idea, but there's an option to create a system for putting on and taking off the hood. It obviously requires some work and might potentially conflict with cutscenes, but it's worth considering.
This looks interesting. The monster graphics look very good, so does the rest of the game. Hopefully it'll be completed someday.
